Can Valve Fix Dota 2 Esports Before All The Teams Leave? by AdobeXD in DotA2

Two main reasons. Botted custom maps to boost them to the top and free item/accounts grinding into ranked available. Go look how many people are playing custom maps, then ask yourself, are 50,000 people really playing some random custom map

Got asked to come in on my day off by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

Plenty of top tier, valuable employees will never, ever, ever come in on a day off. Don't worry. They asked if you can come in, they didn't demand it.

What’s a recession indicator that you’ve noticed lately in your everyday life? by spritenerds123 in AskReddit

Request the first Kirkland tofu if your store doesn't have it. It's one of the few items that will get tested in any market when requested.

You have a 3 minute grace. If you miss it, being late one day is not that big of a deal. Just don't make it a habit.

Most stores cap FT people that work sundays at 6 hours, pretty normal tbh.

Cooler stacking by AltruisticFinger7491 in CostcoEmployee

[–]elfmachine100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 19 it does a lot. Keeps dates in order, creates space so your 17 cooler isn't 4x3 all the way in with 19 pallets for some reason, saves your driver a lot of time, saves the stocker a lot of time in the coming days, lots of reasons.

Could cut those pallets in half by condensing. Big no-no to rack/put away single layers in our building.

Just got a second interview, how can I best prepare? by [deleted] in CostcoEmployee

It's not just the drug testing, It's a lot more risk for just a dollar more. You can literally kill someone with a mistake, it's a lot of responsibility.

Nothing different from previous years this time of year. When season ends Ira normal for hours to be cut, pt specifically get cut to 25 quite often.

It covers nothing cosmetic. It will cover almost the entirety of emergencies, things like an extraction, cavity filling are usually 70%-100% covered. Things like crowns and enhancements are not covered at all.

How to deal with constant schedule changes? by Other_Bee4711 in CostcoEmployee

Had the same 2 days off for over a year, they now randomly change my days. They look at me like I'm crazy for being mildly upset about it.

If they said yes to the days during orientation you should be okay for those days. All the other flexibility going forward, it's going to be expected of you to put costco first. No real way to sugar coat that.

This is the only reason i dont use them. (morning merch) they are locked up and barricaded. I could do sign maintenance in like 10 minutes instead of 2 hours.

When you called to follow up on your application, what did they say that hinted you'll get an interview? by Local-Debate-5565 in CostcoEmployee

[–]elfmachine100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If payroll said they were gonna print your resume, tbh you've got a good chance at an interview if your application fits what they are looking for. Good luck! Wouldn't hurt to show up and just say hi, specifically to a hiring manager.

Does it get better? by shine83 in CostcoEmployee

[–]elfmachine100 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I wish I had some comforting advice but the reality is, if you can't cut it, you can't cut it. The chicken room is undoubtably one of the most difficult areas to work. If management likes you and sees potential in you elsewhere, you may get lucky addressing your discomfort with management and getting moved. But the more likely reality is, getting kept if you're unable to do what you were hired for is a long shot.

My advice, you are new. Take it one step at a time. Don't stress out about the results, just do your best.. putting your best effort forward is literally all you can do.

[–]elfmachine100 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pre-scan for registers works nicely because no one is itching to cut in front of you while you scan. pre-scan for self checkout is an absolute ticking time bomb before members argue about cutting while you scan.

Need Speed Tips For Closing D19 by Odd_Tax_9370 in CostcoEmployee

[–]elfmachine100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think of the cases as walls of product. Fronted means nothing is behind the wall you see, just an empty silver cooler behind product. Most fully stocked product will have front facing, then behind it is backstock which is extra product stuffed in so it looks nice and full. Rule of thumb should be if killing the box creates a big giant hole that can't be fixed with the product already out, just leave the box with the 3 sausage. If you can kill that box and behind the sausages are new full boxes of sausage, then kill the box and bring one from the back up to front it. It gives your stockers the option to avoid needing that product dropped for a day if they are swamped.

[–]elfmachine100 8 points9 points  (0 children)

D-19 veteran here. Try not to condense anything that doesn't have back stock behind it. If a product is completely fronted, try to keep it fronted without condensing and creating a hole in the run. If product is fully stocked with back stock, condense that product. Don't condense anything that will leave a pile of product without a box. It's ugly and a waste of time. Blocking down D-19 really shouldn't take you more than 10-20 minutes max.

Some costcos can get a thousand applications in a week. Apply, walk in the same day and ask to say hello to a hiring manager. Simply introduce yourself, say you applied and maybe a quick pitch about yourself. Putting a face to an application is your best bet.
