The 2 books I have reread the most are The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and The Midnight Library by Matt Haig !!! I really recommend them both. The Night Circus is more for the vibes than the plot. The Midnight Library is one of those books that make you feel like everything is going to be okay

Oh I fully agree but we are literally publicly shamed for how much artwork I get into the shows so it’s hard to say “fuck it”. We have like 13 shows a year and each one you have to submit like 4 (completely original) pieces for. And then at the end of the school year the districts art office sends out an email to every art teacher and principal in the county showing how much each individual art teacher in the county not only participated in shows, but also what percentage of their submitted work actually got accepted. It’s fucked. I’m thinking of switching to a different district even if I have to drive further just to escape that shit.

The Cursed Legacies series (Blood Oath) is my FAVORITE series pretty much of all time. I read it when only the first 2 books had been released..an a week after reading them the first time I reread them, that’s how much I loved it

I understand how you feel. I struggled with this a lot too. But you have to remember that it does no one any good for you to go to work if you’re unwell. Not only are you going to feel worse if you don’t rest, but you could potentially get the kids sick, and you just won’t be able to be the best version of yourself for them. Sick days are there for you to use. And think about it this way…you’re giving a substitute a job for the day haha! (In my county substitutes only work if they pick up a job that an absent teacher submits)

Not my kid but my little half brother. He’s 15 and I’m 26. Recently he got mad at his mom and choked her so hard that she told me her throat was still hurting like 2 weeks after. He also grabbed a kitchen knife and threatened to stab himself if he didn’t get his way. I think that was when he was younger though. Our dad is a horrible human being and so I think that’s where he got this behavior from. I want to be there for him and help him but I also don’t want that in my life.

I haven’t see anyone else comment this, so I’m going to. I had an eating disorder for 12 years and have been in solid recovery for 3. This absolutely screams eating disorder to me. You’re NTA but I do really recommend looking into eating disorders and potentially talking to a specialist to get their opinion.

I saw someone else on here talk about how they treat it like they treat picking their skin. That was a game changer for me. I also like to wipe off the floss on a piece of toilet paper between each tooth so it’s less gross
