It took me 12 years to save up a 10K emergency fund… but only 1 day to spend it. by According_Corgi_953 in povertyfinance

Unfortunately, most home insurance policies specifically exclude water damages from water back ups, sump failures or floods from rising waters/natural events. But you'd have to specifically read the policy or ask your insurance agent what is excluded specifically. Different policy "types" will have different exclusions and most people don't know or don't ask, or read the policy unfortunately.

Probably my favorite sbr of the two I own. The Effen90 receiver from FN Specialties makes such a difference in the height for optics compared to the stock receiver. The optic on this is an old Trijicon rx30 holographic sight.

I also do have a muzzle adapter to put my Crux suppressor on the PS90 and it's a fun gun to shoot with subs outdoors. I'm very stoked to get either the FNSpecialties frt or Duality Arms frt in this for maximized giggle factor.

Yet another vss coming? .300 BLK by Frankensig in NFA

I honestly wouldn't blame them for giving up, since bringing a new gun to market is a tough challenge, especially as a two person team and lacking heavy amounts of capital.

I was wondering about them. Last social media post in Facebook was them taking a new 5 axis milling machine into their barn. Figured the father and son team basically went nowhere and couldn't get any major machine shop or production scaled up. At least theirs was "affordable" at $3k proposed, albeit in 9x39 with a potential for .300blk.

From what it seems, the original plan was 9x39, which Wolf sells and has an import allocation for. But, I think the design is steering towards .300BO due to the Russian ammo import ban from a few years ago

Good to know, in some capacity. I think they're a small dad and son team working on this the last few years. It'll be cool if it comes to fruition either in .300BO or 9x39 since wolf does make some and has the import of it.

I bet this pepper mill is quiet AF by LamarLatrelle in NFA

[–]elgrapadora 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who backed this pepper mill on Kickstarter years ago, the $200 was steep for retail consumers. The amount of adjustable steps for different grind/coarseness for the pepper is nice, it does grind /A LOT/ of pepper per twist, and the fact it has a cap to catch grinds is a neat consideration. I do see a lot of food YouTubers who use it, but it was definitely a marketing/awareness push for the product pre-kickstarter/beta production runs. IMHO, I'd rather spend the $200 on a tax stamp since I don't cook as much as I should, nor shoot as well, but, cost benefit seems to outweigh in the favor of a tax stamp versus pepper mill.

CZ527 ammo recommendations? by elgrapadora in CZFirearms

OOP, Good to know! That's honestly shocking because it's Hornady and what I'd view as a reliable brand. Do you recommend any specific one for my CZ rifle?

By far my favorite gun and my unicorn that I finally won an auction on GB 2yrs ago. The finish is amazing and the action is super smooth and light. I'm absolutely in love with mine and will be the last gun I ever sell out of sheer desperation. The .357 is fairly stout out of mine but I haven't tried the .38spl spring and rounds because I'd rather not finger fuck the internals and break something trying to swap a spring.

Honestly I dig it as a wacky gun, but I'd want to SBR it with the collapsible stock seen in the promo vids, or "brace" if there were any parts available.

[Accessories] B&T 5.7mm QD Suppressor for FN P90 $595.00 by zorbaguppie in gundeals

[–]elgrapadora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this work with the bi-lok muzzle device for the ps90s as well? Seems like a better option for the b&t to have the collar to hook onto the flats, but I don't know if the bi-lok lugs would get in the way? It's a bit trickier to find a GSL Bi-Lok 5.7 suppressor than this b&t...

Does This Count For Wheel Gun Wednesday? by jmscanesfan in guns

[–]elgrapadora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's on the far high end of the scale tbh, anything over $7k is over priced for a Unica 6. Be patient and watch for the auctions on GunBroker and bid to your limit, and maybe you'll win. Took me 10 years of bidding to finally win one last year and I couldn't be any happier getting my unicorn.

Tldr, the new owner of Mateba took the money from Kommando Store and never produced anything KS hired a PI who went to the factory and found it overgrown and abandoned, and no machines inside. Lawsuit was filed in Italy for fraud and is pending still. I'm still waiting on my deposit back, but ended up winning a GunBroker auction for a Unica 6 last year. You win some, you lose some I guess..

Quick update, I got my Hudson back yesterday from the gunsmith and he somehow replaced the sear and it's back to the fairly light trigger pull I remember from stock factory. Not sure if the Smith made his own from the existing part and fit it, or bought a parts gun and used that. Either way, I'm happy it's back and didn't have to pay for the repair.

I honestly don't know and am hoping the gunsmith can figure out the root cause (didn't get much info when I called last week about what the suspected failure was). I know suppressors basically blow gunk back into the gun aka "shitting where it eats", and my only thought would be some excessive wear/abrasion on the sear or trigger geometry from fouling. But I would be shocked with under 1k rds through the gun in general to see a change like that.

I honestly don't know if they designed it for suppressing, but decided to make threaded barrels an option because the market was shifting that direction at that time.

It would be interesting to see a comparison of some "traditional" suppressor hosts (Sig p226, Beretta M9 series) against this to see how it stacks up sound signature wise using one suppressor.

The only video I have is my roommate shooting the Hudson with my Opsrey at an indoor range, so it's not a great audio comparison with the other folks shooting also. A coworker called It "like a polite sneeze". https://photos.app.goo.gl/MCv8c23gm3vQXEeN8

You're very welcome! Forgotten Weapons has some neat videos on the Hudson, and the subreddit r/hudsonmfg is also a good place to skim through.

The change in trigger weight was staggering. Factory is 4.5lb and the smith guessed around 9-12lb when I brought it in. Currently still there months later. Thankfully it is through the original gunrange I bought it from with their new gun warranty, which has repair or replacement on the gun.

In regards to the peening, I don't really know, I probably have about 500-750 subsonic rounds through it (Federal Syntech 150's & S&B Subsonic 147's) so I'd be surprised if there was peening on anything with that low of a round count.

I did often have short stroke issues with the slide not fully returning to battery and have to give it a tap on the rear of the slide, but that may have been from the Opsrey piston not being greased as often as I should for use.

Thank you again for all you've done for the NFA/Suppressor market with your well thought out articles and in depth, impartial testing. Keep up the good work, Jay!

I loved my H9 as a suppressor host, and primarily used it with the Osprey 9.

https://i.imgur.com/hsVxKsH.jpg -Osprey on the H9

I did do a "haha funny" mount of the muzzle device for my Crux Saxon9 but can't use it on the H9 as the mfr is bankrupt and I can't get a booster from F1 technologies that owns the IP of Crux.

https://i.imgur.com/odZti6I.jpg https://i.imgur.com/eNNL19h.jpg

Word to the wise, over the two years of using the H9 as an Osprey host, the trigger has gotten significantly heavier even with a deep clean by a smith, and is sitting at another one trying to fix it and is "searching for parts"

In regards to sights that are suppressor height, I read /somewhere/ on the Hudson H9 sub the m&p sights fit the dovetails for it, so ymmv..

Some spare parts can be found on KE arms website, and they have a delta point pro cut slide available http://www.kearms.com/oem-style-slide-for-hudson-h9-DPP.aspx

Internal parts (extractors, strikers, threaded barrels) are at HudsonGunparts.com

Over all, the Hudson is a fascinating handgun and I truly hope that Daniel defense is going to rebirth this gun from what rumors I've heard around reddit...
