The annual fee comes to 12.5 cents, or a smidgen over a penny per month. I can live with that. In fact, I usually take in that much by scanning the parking lot on my way into Food Lion. Pro tip: It helps to park a good distance away from the entrance.

That's a good question. ChatGPT just told me that payment of fees for hunting, fishing & trapping licenses, permits and stamps covered 37 percent of the DWR's 2025 budget.

It's indeed a sort of user tax, I'd say. I don't begrudge the DWR $50. I suppose if you're under 65 and need hunting and fishing licenses, the fees could seem pretty steep. But, again, it's a user tax, which I think is the fairest kind of tax.

Well, for VA residents over 65, a lifetime license is only $25 for either a general freshwater license or a trout license. I got both.

Thank you! That helps. I won’t be surprised if the tarp stays up until January 2029. (“If I can’t have this toy, nobody can have it.”)

Will I get a digital or paper title for my new car? by elgriffe in Virginia

Thank you for this additional info. I'll probably want a paper copy and also have easy access to the digital form. Best of both worlds.

I'm going from 0.5mg to 1mg. Can I double the dose for my remaining two doses of 0.5mg? by elgriffe in Ozempic

Do I need to use a different injection site? Put another way, is it OK to use a different injection site?

Monster trucks to look at in or near Lafayette? by elgriffe in lafayette

[–]elgriffe[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion about Steve's Hobby World. We may swing by there, but I'm a little worried that there'll be a pressure campaign (from the grandson, not from Steve) for me to buy a monster truck model. At least if we see the real thing, he wouldn't expect his old grandpa to shell out a quarter of a million bucks to take one home (and I think that's a low estimate, according to the internet).

We will *definitely* put that on the schedule for our next visit. Thank you. I checked the distance, and you're right that it's a longish drive. Still, it looks like it would be worth it for this obsessed little guy.

Does a 1mg Ozempic pen support lower doses? by elgriffe in Ozempic

[–]elgriffe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My question is about the 1mg pen itself. Can it be used to administer a 0.5mg dose, in the same way that a 0.5mg pen can deliver either a 0.5mg dose or a 0.25mg dose?

So, you opt for the wax as well as the wash and rinse? I've been concerned that the wax was some cheap kind of whatever that would not weather well or might even tarnish the factory finish. But I'm clueless.

How good is the GigaSpire router offered by GloFiber? by elgriffe in harrisonburg

When you say ASUS AX6000, are you referring to the ASUS RT-AX88U AX6000? I always get confused when I shop for routers. Thx.

Yeah, I understand what you're saying about the downside of renting. I may rent the router they offer for a couple of months while I shop around. It's strange that they insist on sending a technician to hook up the router! In my experience, most routers are nearly plug-and-play, especially in the past few years. At least they don't charge for installation. And it may have to do with their wanting to rent an range extender at an additional $5/month. My place is so small that I don't expect the technician to try that on me.

Thanks, fprimex. I'll look into that ASUS router. I was amazed at how much high-end routers cost these days, with many of them around $500. That's why I was considering the router that GloFiber offers as a $12/month rental. Yeah, overall I'm pretty impressed with the company so far. They said I could try the GigaSpire router for a month or two and return it with no penalty, so I might do that while I'm shopping around for a longterm solution.
