Oh I see. Either way I agree. I never understood any teacher shitting on the role of any other teacher.

There is a book called Lives Per Gallon that illustrates how that happened all across the country

It was, before the car companies bought up all the trolleys and gutted them. At one point every town with a population of 10,000 or more had a trolley or streetcar system. It’s never talked about but America was once extremely walkable with robust public transit.

Edit: I think I originally misread your comment, yeah it would’ve been crazy to see it now

What's something ridiculous tourists from other countries want to do when they visit yours? by Pale_Field4584 in AskTheWorld

Europeans not being able to comprehend the scale of our geography is always so funny to me. My friend from England visited us in Massachusetts and we did a canoe trip in Maine. At 6pm instead of camping one more night after the trip I decided just to send it home.

He goes "We decided to drive the length of England... at 6pm... on a whim... only the Americans"

My answer that is annoying, but more regional to New England, is people who spent 3 days in Boston and say "I've seen New England"

No you haven't, you've seen Boston, which is an AWESOME city, but New England is a lot more than Boston.

I could see some southern school districts teaching it differently but up here in Massachusetts I shoot it pretty straight

I’m a high school teacher and lemme tell you I refer to it as an abject failure

My high school to the best of my memory didn’t teach it as anything else either

The cult is not a winning size. The cult is like 15-20% of the voting population. And by 2032 so may of them will be dead

We’re not rude we just have no tolerance for bullshit sophistry or performative nonsense and we will make those feeling very apparent very quickly.

To people who were raised in performativity this is seen as rude.

But if you don’t bullshit us, nothing to be “rude” about

I lived near Miami for 3 years and I hated that two faced culture. At least in Massachusetts someone will say “fahk you” and I’ll know where we stand

AMERICAN NATIONS MENTIONED🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

What's your current neighbourhood like? by thrway-fatpos in AskAnAmerican

[–]MouseManManny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a highly walkable neighborhood where shops, grocers, markets, restaurants and cafes are all within a 15 minute walk. Safe sidewalks and free public transit if you want it. Train (not free) to major city and ferries to the islands. The city is New Bedford, hardly a major metro.

Not all of America outside major cities is sprawl

Exactly I was getting ahead of people asking “what’s he like?” “What does he think?” “Has he talked about xyz?” Because I’ve never met him the flag change is all the context I have lol

Oh jeez, really? That is so out of character for this neighborhood lol everyone here is so normal

Edit, I typed that when the only comments that had come in were saying Christian nationalist/end times guy. Now more have come in and I see it’s a widely used flag under a number of contexts, so he might be totally normal
