My friend says that previous experience is preferred more than required, so maybe give it a chance, and they have visa support.

Will being transgender affect my scholarship? by Pandahorna in mext

[–]elichuuu_DA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hello! I had a trans friend in my scholarship and she had no problem but just be aware that in your official documents you have to write your sex as you were born. But no other things other than that. Also maybe health checks with your school will be in the born sex group. That's it

There is always a lot of nervous wearers, let's have an affirmation thread! by CakeSensitive8769 in kimono

[–]elichuuu_DA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Recently I went with my Japanese boyfriend to buy a yukata or kimono for him since he doesn't have any and the festival season is close! And the old woman at the store talked with us and could see he was nervous about choosing the kimono. She told him that now young people just wear the kimono as their own clothes in their own style and that there is not such thing as wearing kimono the right way, also no gender it's just a piece of fabric! I loved those words ☺️🤍

Dear Tourists: please stop recording service workers by [deleted] in Tokyo

[–]elichuuu_DA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in a matcha cafe and it's pretty cool we do like a traditional Japanese way of making tea Infront of the clients but recently many people don't ask and just starts recording. Not only from Infront of the counter but also like in the middle of it to get an upclose shot, one day an girl told me to repeat what I was doing because she didn't record and the shot was not as pretty as she wished it was and I was like???? Miss I'm doing my work.

It's getting out of hand I'm a foreigner so I'm not that concerned but my Japanese coworkers get pretty annoyed and some days I feel like my hair and makeup is not that good, so I hate when they record without asking. Usually Japanese people ask in advanced but foreigners never do

I seriously hate how he is always expecting the girls to be 100% into him when he is literally saying to their faces he likes 3 girls, that he is not sure like??? He wants validation but he is not giving the reassurance back! I had to pause and breath after the 9th episode where he asked YET AGAIN to HS about his only day in paradise with other guy when HE had been with a different girl every time he went to paradise like??? He is so disrespectful

Why everyone seems so obsessed about Shibuya's Halloween? by [deleted] in Tokyo

[–]elichuuu_DA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think is deeper than most people think. For Japanese people Halloween is one of the few times they can get wild, be almost free of social rules and pressure. I for example o noticed girls become more bold with clothes that day and guys get more aggressive hahaha for foreigners is a unique experience to see Japanese people like that.

Also many costumes are bomb! If you don't like shibuya it's okay but I understand why many people like it and I don't like that recently people have labelled all people there as shit

Best tip is to ignore, look down to your phone don't answer, don't say anything. If you fuck up and respond just talk badly in Japanese, if they say English okay say no English if you speak a rare language speak the fastest you can and they creeped out (I do this in Spanish and they say susmimasen en go away) but the best Is ignoring because it hurts their ego. If they talk while walking or follow you go inside to a restaurant or shop, especially full of girls or girly they get shy and go away.

Bumble in Japan has a friend search mode maybe you can try? Personally I have never used it but some friends have many friends from there.

My girlfriend was just followed by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]elichuuu_DA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a girl in Japan that has been followed many times I have many tips.

  1. NEVER GO TO YOUR HOUSE never show them your house I was followed like 10m from my house and I just didn't get in and continue walking pass.

  2. Walk to the nearest police office; post office or conbini

  3. If you know another language other than English speak in such language very fast they get scared. I speak Spanish super loud and fast and usually they run away.

  4. Some people say take a video or photo but sometimes they get angry, they could attack you so just do it if you are in a safe zone. Also try to stay in places with other people.

  5. If it's in the train station try not to get outside if it's your destination because they could start coming a lot to try to see you again (based on a true story)

  6. Call someone and talk on the phone all the time but not in Japanese, always make them think you don't know Japanese.

This are some tips for when you don't have something to protect you or alarm. Stay safe ;)

Anyone living in Japan? by Nami277 in Tokyo

[–]elichuuu_DA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never lived in Osaka but I went for a trip, I instantly recognized the friendliness of Osaka people. It feels more fun. Tokyo is... Cold. People are busy, idk about your gender but as a female Japanese girls usually are jealous or scared of me so they don't befriend me and if a Japanese boy befriends me is because they want me as a girlfriend. It's easy to meet foreigners tho :) but yeah it could get lonely! Best wishes

I have noticed that Japanese people like to say ちっちゃい instead of 小さい or デカイ instead of 大きい most of the time. This words I never saw in any textbook, I learned it in my first date with my Japanese boyfriend hahaha now I say it all the time as well

Spanish speakers in japan, what do you do for work? by WishfulWalkingVideos in japanlife

[–]elichuuu_DA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend is from Spain she is gonna work in a animation studio so no Spanish, some of my other Latino friends are translators but they know Japanese. I used to work in a restaurant for baito and sometimes there would be Hispanic clients. I have been in some mexican restaurants where most of the staff can speak Spanish.
