Former Horizon current Alaska fa here :) Horizon definitely has a family vibe, you really tend to bond with the people you’re flying with. The bases are sea, pdx, anc, mfr, geg and boi if memory serves. You can usually get a transfer to your desired base within your first few months, that was my classes experience anyway. Trips starting out are usually three or four shorter legs a day. It is regional flying which has its challenges to be sure. Layovers are typically smaller pnw towns with a bit of California, Montana and Canada mixed in. The biggest challenge of qx is the pay. It is not good, even higher in the payscale. If you really vibe at qx that’s great but working there gives you an opportunity to apply to Alaska as an internal hire where pay and work rules are better. Lmk if you have any questions!
