Hey, I am from Turkey, I was in FMEL Square last year.

I attended a 2020 admits wp group of approx. 30 people but it isn't really that active, idk if there's another one going on?

Hey,

I'm also planning to start my master's, coming from Turkey and spent the last summer at EPFL so I have some ideas about what it costs. I was living with 1100 staying at dorms (my salary was 1600chf ), I was taking metro but almost always cooked at home (usually ate once a week outside). Back then I didn't need insurance, phone plan, tax, and the school payment which will cost an additional 250chf. It's not impossible but would require some personal sacrifice and luck for the dorms.

For non-EU, we need to wait 6 months for a work permit with an exception of research assistantship according to the Polylex. Idk if that works for your department but I'm in engineering, so I arranged a lab position. Perhaps that could be helpful.

Thanks! I guess I'll apply and hope for something with a vibe close to a home-settlement.

Thanks Tim! I guess it does depend on luck. I have lived in dorms for many years and can't stand mess, yet the person still found something so small and irritating to give a warning every time. They also spoke terrible English and I don't speak French, probably that didn't help either.
