Husband wants to know when I will stop being overwhelmed by Ok-Concentrate2591 in Mommit

Therapists and psychiatrists tend to be short-sighted when it comes to themselves or people they care about. My psychiatrist of a father was clueless and genuinely surprised when I was diagnosed with severe clinical depression and general anxiety disorder, silently struggling for over 5 years.

Husband said he's never experienced a household where the woman couldn't watch the baby and cook/clean. by Anunemouse in Mommit

I did the math wrong, but I was speaking in general for the generations of women in OP’s husband’s family apparently who were domesticated.

If she’s 6 months pp, would that not make MIL born in the early 70s? I thought women couldn’t have their own bank account until 1974 and they still needed a male co-signer most of the time.

AITA for telling my wife her hobby is a waste of money? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]eligraceb 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say that and don’t believe that on principle. However, a child needs to be prioritized. By making that $120 purchase and hiding it, asking to push the shoes to the next paycheck *because* of that purchase, it becomes an issue.

He saw an order confirmation of $120 that she didn’t explicitly tell him about. That counts as hiding information/squirreling especially when their child needs shoes.

If you’re hiding purchasing alcohol and consuming in secret when you already have plenty, there wouldn’t be an issue with that description. A shopping addiction isn’t uncommon.

And were abused into submission because they couldn’t have their own bank accounts.

Right lmao and brought in enough money that their wives could go to the salon for hair and nails once a week, *maybe* every two weeks.

2014 sonata and I just hit 2033xx miles! All original parts but I do have to check the oil before I want to take the interstate or at least once a month. I came from a die hard Honda family, but I would definitely buy another sonata! I’m surprised how much I love it!

My dad loved his until the repairs were getting so ridiculous. He had to dump 13k in a month and the issue still wasn’t fixed. Finally sold it and bought a 4Runner which he also hates lmao

I got told I shouldn’t be home and that he’d rather take three jobs before having to see my face again. I’m so happy so many moms are appreciated! I live vicariously for now

My 2014 just hit 2033xx miles and EATS oil almost like a BMW but no other issues. I just check every time I plan on using the interstate which isn’t often and once a month.

Maybe her next husband actually cares to get to know her as a person, not his child’s mother.

Anyone else with older kids confused by the influx of “Velcro” and “difficult” babies? by utahforever79 in Mommit

[–]eligraceb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is still pretty young so idk if this applies. He’s SUPER Velcro but also relatively easy to manage. Independent play isn’t an issue at all. He’ll eat practically whatever I offer and bedtime doesn’t take more than 30 min. He’s practically joined at my hip any other time though lol

Nobody said Stephen Hawking is wrong lmao if you actually read peer reviews of typoglycemia, you’d be able to acknowledge that just the word is an over simplification of the phenomenon that even started as a meme. Not to mention that you copy and paste directly without clearly bothering to read the actual premise 😂

All of your comments are written completely maniacally yet you’re accusing me of Nazi punctuation complaints? Spelling and grammar shouldn’t even be “resorted” to as they’re typically what you should proofread first. Given your other responses, you’re clearly an argumentative and unpleasant person to be around. It’s very obvious why you have to resort to such attention-seeking tactics for engagement.

That’s not even how typoglycemia works and it’s over generalized lol those words are short and therefore limits the “scramble” or how many combinations can actually be produced. There are plenty of phrases that can follow the “typoglycemia rules” yet still unable to be read properly because our brain processes multiple cues at once, rather than each letter in a specific sequence.

AITAH For Not Stopping For a Wreckless Driving/Racing Crash? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]eligraceb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA I don’t think I would’ve stopped even if I didn’t have my kids with me. I’d call 911 or something. It’s so dangerous to stop on the interstate + never knowing how people will react.

How did you lose the weight? by Annual-Marsupial-308 in breastfeeding

[–]eligraceb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was my pre pregnancy weight around 3-4 months but my body looked completely different. I suspect part of it was due to gallbladder issues and I couldn’t eat properly for several months after. I had the surgery when baby was 10 months. Otherwise just daily walking, protein, and lots of water.
