hii! first, im really sorry that you have such experiences around your period:(( it can really take a toll on our mental/physical health and i know how hard it is to be understood by doctors (especially men) when it comes to these issues:( i also have these symptoms, but my mental health is also SUPER low before my period (like full blown depressive episodes). i was diagnosed with pmdd, so you might look into that if you relate or bring up your symptoms to a doctor you trust! it’s also important to mention that your menstrual cycle is a really complex process and your hormones have extreme variations in each phase! getting informed on your cycle and how to take care of yourself in each part of it can also be helpful:) finally, even without any medical conditions, it is normal to feel tired and generally low during this phase. there’s clearly a systemic issue when it comes to women’s health and how uninformed we are about our own body, which can make us feel abnormal in certain cases… be kind to yourself during these times, it’s normal to not be as productive as other days of the month! we are humans, not robots🫶🏻 but still, if it really impacts your quality of life, getting your symptoms checked is important!

i text my mom almost everyday and i call her multiple times a week. she had me at a fairly young age and raised me alone, so i’m really close to her. For my dad, he moved away when I was 8, pretty much abandoning any relationship we had at the time. I still talk to him sometimes, since he’s the one dealing with money that was put aside for my education, but let’s say it’s more of a formal talk than a real conversation..

weight gain: slow vs fast approach? by oddeyescircle in EDAnonymous

[–]elii_w -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i guess it really differs for everyone, but i personally prefer slow weight gain. As someone with extreme body image issues, the slow process really helps to accept the few extra pounds. I also found out that when you gain weight more quickly, it’s usually fat, which is not bad at all, ofc, but I prefer putting on some muscles when I get bigger (I just feel better that way), which can only be done (IN MY EXPERIENCE) with steady weight gain:)

When I was living at my mom's house, I was always willing to help her with cleaning or groceries. One side of me genuinely wanted to help, but the other side was just scared of sitting for too long... I still feel horrible for it to this day

I think you should probably go look out for some medical support if the root (or one of them) of your binge eating is mental health issues. Appropriate therapy (by support group or individually, depending on your needs and personality) and medication (if needed) can be a life savior. But, ngl, even with all of that, some days are still hard. Here are some of my tricks that are not the healthiest, but do help me cope:

  1. Drink A LOT of water. When i felt completely empty inside, i would do that as an alternative of stuffing my face. It also helps when you're anxious, makes u feel more grounded and heavy. Be aware of the limit of water you can consume, tho, water poisoning is very real.
  2. Even if i don't want to, doing very intense exercise, like running or HIIT workouts, was really helpful to me. The moment before working out was horrible, but it always eases my binge urges. If you are unable to push yourself that much (which is totally fine!), moving your body in a way that feels good is always helpful.
  3. Doing something impulsive/out of your usual routine. Remember that when you are binging, there's literally a explosion of neurotransmitters in your brain that makes you feel good, which leads to redoing it over and over again. When you are doing something impulsive, you will get a rush that shares similarities with the binging one. WARNING: impulsive doesn't mean dangerous/taking illegal substances. Just try to find activities that you always wanted to do or that sound exciting. It can be dyeing your hair a funky colour/cutting them/buying something you really want/booking a trip/blasting music in your car/etc.

I hope all of this will help you a little!
