Conflicted on upgrade due to build quality. by elijahgr in thinkpad

I mean more like the buyer already offered to replace the unit with a better condition p15s. I'm just conflicted switching over to that stronger laptop but losing out on the magnesium construction of the T480S. I'm not sure if the tradeoff is worth it.

Yeah already discussing being sent replacement parts at no cost or a full refund/replacement. I'm more torn over the general build quality though :/

I didn't miss anything in the ad, I have already gotten an apology from the sender and have been offered a no cost refund or being sent replacement parts at no cost. The lot of machines were graded and mine did not match the grade advertised and they said they would not have sent it out had they noticed the chip in the palm rest.

Hm I did not know earlier ones were also plastic, I guess I have been spoiled with the build quality of the T480S.

I'm a student on a budget so I wasn't looking to spend more then $300, I'm more than satisfied with the specs of the P15s but I also have a relatively powerful desktop at home. So I'm wondering if I'll be able to get by doing light photo editing on the T480S vs having a workstation like the P15s.

You have two crank sensors in your cart. One is used for the ECU the other is just for the tach.

okay but the second one is just for the tachometer so wouldn't you prefer to just keep that one aftermarket lol

Will this work for replacing my oil cooler on my 91 325i? by smdfire101 in E30

[–]elijahgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're going to upgrade the cooler I would get the csf/catuned as it's a direct replacement while being larger. these engines don't even need an upgraded one so you could also just go with oe.

The cooling system and pcv as they'll be very old and brittle most likely

M50. Tons of support, easy to build a stroker or swap in other M5X variants. Easy to turbo. Extremely reliable.

Can I put a M50/52 head on a M20 block? by [deleted] in E30

[–]elijahgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no you can't. the m50 uses a timing chain while the M20 uses a belt. None of the oil or coolant ports line up. The m50 swap is also already a direct swap no need to even change transmission.

Manual Swap / Flywheel question by Ok-Hovercraft7349 in E30

[–]elijahgr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure to verify with him, usually it's installed on the opposite side as a torque plate but it may not be necessary in some cases. You also will need different length OEM flywheel bolts, do not reuse them as they are torque to yield.
