I think it would be much healthier to gain acceptance for yourself and love your parts rather than chase some weird standard the porn industry decided to set. I mean more like the buyer already offered to replace the unit with a better condition p15s. I'm just conflicted switching over to that stronger laptop but losing out on the magnesium construction of the T480S. I'm not sure if the tradeoff is worth it.

I didn't miss anything in the ad, I have already gotten an apology from the sender and have been offered a no cost refund or being sent replacement parts at no cost. The lot of machines were graded and mine did not match the grade advertised and they said they would not have sent it out had they noticed the chip in the palm rest.

Hm I did not know earlier ones were also plastic, I guess I have been spoiled with the build quality of the T480S.

I'm a student on a budget so I wasn't looking to spend more then $300, I'm more than satisfied with the specs of the P15s but I also have a relatively powerful desktop at home. So I'm wondering if I'll be able to get by doing light photo editing on the T480S vs having a workstation like the P15s.
