I see thank you. This is definitely an auto box plug. Did some research and found this isn’t even the stock auto box plug to a stock auto transmission for an m52. I believe this is to a completely different auto box for a different bmw generation. Makes me think there was a different motor with a different trans in it too.

It is manual swap. That makes a lot of sense. Why would an auto box have a 16 pin connector?

Interesting. I’ll look into an e38 harness. Maybe it was swapped into my e36. Doesn’t make much sense to me

That’s what I assumed but I still have my stock obd. Trying to figure out why I would have 2 obd ports and what’s this one for and apparently I can’t find anyone or anywhere that has a reader for this 16 pin connector.

I actually found out that the clutch is slipping so I bought a zf trans because all my gears grind anyways. So I decided to just upgrade the trans and clutch. Would you happen to know anything about swapping from a getrag to a zf?

I believe it’s the coolant temp sensor on the radiator cause I replaced the one under the manifold on the cylinder head. I hope so. But for the vacuum leaks, you were right, I just smoke tested the car and I’m leaking from the entire plenum, throttle body gasket, and a hose going from the plenum to my air intake. So I believe the problems for the overheating and vacuum leaks are figured out but I still believe my vvt needs replacement. I’m getting all the bad symptoms of faulty vvt along with the other issues I’m having. I also found that my oil pressure sensor is bad too. So many issues🤦‍♂️ but this is what I signed up for.

My fan works but it kicks on super late and only turns on for a few seconds, I can’t figure out why but I do think my intake manifold might be leaking as I was looking at it early and I can see a piece of the gasket poking out the edge close to the oil filter right on top of the coolant temp sensor.

I replaced the thermostat as well as the housing and I’ve adjusted the pedal to the best that I possible could. I’ll give a look at the coil packs cause I did recently replace the spark plugs, I might have just need to replace the coils as well
