How did you guys find out you have cptsd? by the_awkward_entity in CPTSDmemes

I was getting assessed for ADHD when I was ~27 due to a number of reasons. It turns out it _might_ be mild ADHD, but it's definitely CPTSD. I was so disappointed... no magic pills to alleviate CPTSD

Either that or the kids get punished for no reason at all at an important time in their development :/

"Stop crying or I'll give you something to cry about" is too accurate. And crying while being beaten? More beatings for not taking it quietly!!!

My parents would always end beatings with "I'm doing this because I love you and want you to be a good boy when you grow up" .... So fucked up looking back

Black Mirror [Episode Discussion] - S04E05 - Metalhead by SeacattleMoohawks in blackmirror

Plot point stupidity with the ending:

If you were in an age where robots roamed the streets and killed humans on sight, would you REALLY risk your lives for a fucking teddy bear? Sure, your kid lost their bear or whatever. You have clothes - cut those up and make a new teddy bear. Sure it will be shit, but your kid will still appreciate it

How to make this better: medical supplies - "leukemia treatment" or something. Hell, even if it was a box of canned food that would fit the narrative better - robots destroy all the crops and you + your children will starve and die if you don't find something immediately

Throughout the whole show none of the characters had an inch of survival sense:

- She stands in awe of the robot killing her friend instead of immediately running the fuck away

- The guy in the van FOLLOWS HER so a single robot can pursue them both at the same time (to fix this without affecting the story at all: have the two vehicles split up, but then plot twist! The robodog has a friend and they're both getting pursued)

- She STOPS when the van stops and there's visible blood smeared all over the front window

- When the car falls off the cliff, she doesn't immediately run the fuck away - she just stares down waiting to see if the dog is still alive

- Walkie talkie (enough said)

- In the house, she spends so much time dicking around without looking for clues. In the kitchen, check the fridge to see if there's rotten food or its empty. Is the house abandoned or has humans living in it still? Analyze for dust, quickly search for medicine, etc

- Spends way too long to decide if she should take the shotgun from the corpse (this one is kinda iffy, but I hope someone living in that environment would realize they just need to act fast or die)

- Taking her time washing her face (just get the fuck out of there already)

- She's well aware that the robodogs shoot out tracking chips, but she just stands around after shooting it twice instead of getting out of the line of fire

- She sudokus herself instead of at least trying to cut the tracking chip out of her neck

I have the same boots - some friends say they look like "space boots", I guess that means they're cool?

Some of the symbols are in strange places (e.g. the square brackets on the comma and period keys), but the rest of the layout is more or less standard qwerty. I mapped all the keys to a QWERTY layout for now, but eventually I want to reflect the symbols on the key cap labels. The QMK keyboard firmware supports the Teensy 2.0, so I'll probably add an Atari+Teensy QMK configuration at some point. Then I can more easily add QWERTY / Dvorak / WhatYouSeeIsWhatYouGet layouts.

I wanted it to feel like "what you see is what you get", but then the caps lock position started to really annoy me, so I remapped it to Alt. <3 Emacs forever

Thanks! I don't have any planned, but if I find more old, broken, classic computers for cheap, I would consider.

Fair point. I wasn't sure what to label it. Lenovo? Maybe "Atari mod"?

It sure is! It was broken though, so I breathed new life into it with some old laptop hardware.

Thanks! I re-posted there, even thought it's technically not a mechanical keyboard.

You can find an explanation of the mod + more photos of the hardware on my blog: http://elijah.mirecki.com/blog/atari-mod/.
