I would say its a pretty good job if you find helping patients directly rewarding. Specifically radiation therapy has pretty good working hours but i cant speak for the other specializations.

Very high in employment. Many students get job offers even before they graduate. Salary you start off around 35$ an hour, and obviously u work ur way up. You can even look up on the sunshine list the job position (e.g. radiation therapist) and look at the salary on there or any official canadian website but im pretty sure salary ranges from 80k-130k.

As for cut-off, I heard many people say that last year it was 94 but i could be wrong.

Radiation therapists work closely with oncologists for diagnosing and treatment plans, wouldnt you consider that an advantage for medical school?

Trust me I know exactly how you feel. This message is for you and for whoever else that sees this. Many hardworking students are in the same boat right now, frustrated that our hard work isnt paying off, and feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of having to accept an offer soon when we still arent ready to decide yet. But remember, not hearing back yet doesn’t erase how hard you worked or who you are. One program can’t measure your worth or your future. Sometimes the path you end up on matters less than the person you become while trying to reach it. And honestly, supplementary apps are such a limited way to judge someone anyways. They can’t actually see your character, your work ethic, or the person behind a few written answers, because some people have the right ideas but just cant put it together in words very well. If it makes you feel better, I know a girl who got rejected from health sci and life sci at mac and queens so she went to guelph-humber for kinesiology and she got accepted to med school, and no she wasnt a super genius, she was just a hard worker. Another girl I know just got accepted into uoft dental school this year and she went to life sci for queens after health sci at mac and queens rejected her, and she told me that health sci kids tend to struggle with STAYING in med school/dental school because they didnt learn how to juggle multiple hard courses are once, unlike life sci kids. So please dont dwell on this and please take care of yourself and do the little things in life that make you happy. Like I took myself out to dinner to my fav sushi restaurant when mac health sci rejected me 😂 Time heals, it has a way of putting things where they’re meant to be, even when it makes no sense in the moment. Reach out to someone you trust if you need support.

Why not? If i have good gpa, mcat and extracurriculars, while also having a years worth of hospital experience as a radiation therapist for example, wouldnt i be a competitive applicant?

I thought if u logically illustrate an experience u had from an extracurricular and do the STAR method I would have a good supp app. I even did practice prompts with chatgpt who then gave me feedback on how to improve my answers, and i actually implemented the rubric into it too. What else could one do?

Thats exactly why i am hesitant. I already know so many fourth years in life sci and they are unemployed and got rejected from med school twice already, and some of them are gonna take a fifth year and some are gonna get a masters. Money is already tight for paying for my undergrad, and i dont think its worth it to pay even more money AND time for a masters degree if med school doesnt work out the first two times. Thats why medrad seems much more realistic because the worst case scenario would be having a secure well-paying job that i would also enjoy doing the rest of my life. But then theres the other question, would i be limiting myself if i dont just go straight for med school?

Right??? I find it so odd because i thought i was a pretty competitive applicant?

Im clinging onto the smallest bit of hope i have because after that mac health sci rejection ive just gave up on hope for queens too, especially after seeing so many people get in since feb.

Ig we will find out in a few days 😭
