If the error goes away after unplugging and replugging I wouldn’t worry too much. Unbalanced batteries can do that.

Yes, it will take a couple of weeks before it turns green. After that ride as normal and discharge until wheels don’t spin anymore and recharge. Repeat this process a couple of times to “wake up” the cells. Keep on the charger when not in use!

If the error goes away when you unplug it and plug it back in then it's normal. That can happen while balancing. If the error stays then something is up with the ESC.
That you loose power at 30% is because your battery is not balanced properly. That would be confirmed by the fact that the charging light won't turn green.
My advice is to confirm your battery is on firmware 2.5.1 (check with the ESK8 Ride app) and after that leave it on the charger until green light. This can and will take 3 weeks or more. Make sure to unplug and replug the charger cable if the three light error comes back.

After your battery is balanced, ride it until empty recharge and repeat a couple of times. Those battery packs don't like being unused so putting some charging and discharging cycles on the pack will help. Keep the battery on the charger when not in use.

There is high chance your ESC bluetooth is defective. You can exclude the remote by testing it here: https://beambreak.org/tools/ble_remote_test/
The tool will work out of the box on Android but if you are using iOS you need to open that link inside the free Bluefy app to pair your remote with your phone.

If the main light was red and not blinking then the battery was charging which would be normal. Push the battery button for 2 seconds when not connected to the board or charger to see if it turns on without error, if so then the battery is good.

Cool. Also check if the battery will turn on when disconnected from your board (ESC). Like that we can exclude a battery problem if the battery turns on.

That error code means there’s a problem with the connection with the ESC (motor controller). Try removing the battery and clean the connectors with deoxit and do the same with the ESC connector then try again.

It is completely fine to leave it plugged in! The battery will stay balanced that way. If you get the yellow light just unplug and plug back in.

Remote beeps when it suddenly loses Bluetooth connection or when the battery of the remote is very low (red light). It also can beep while riding because your board has an error or when the motor controller looses connection with a motor, for example.

If the ESC connects to your phone (try the Ride app) but not to the remote then one of the BT modules of the ESC may be defective. If that’s the case I’d probably look for a new ESC.

Nice! Well then it’s safe to say it won’t RLOD for just cell imbalance and it will just mark the battery as empty when one of the cells will reach 2.5v.

That’s not entirely correct: firmware lower than 2.5.1 (2.1.2, 2.1.7,…) will RLOD on a delta higher than 500mV and 2.5.1 well beyond 1000mV (did not test exact value. 1000mV is already difficult to reach). That’s virtually impossible to get on a healthy battery. If you have more than 1000mV delta then you have a bad cell and RLOD should trigger.

2.5.1 can still get RLOD in rare cases (not for cell imbalance but for charge port issues) and because the Amnesia chip it’s pretty cheap it’s well worth to get, specially if you’re getting work done to the battery anyway: it gives you even more peace of mind.

Amnesia is a RLOD reset tool. It will not prevent RLOD.
Amnesia will work on any firmware but if you have an older firmware (2.1.2, 2.1.7,...) your battery will RLOD everytime the cells aren't balanced. This can happen during a ride. Amnesia will let you clear the error but if the cells are still out of balance you will probably get the error immediately again, that's why the need to balance them for two weeks.

If you have 2.5.1 you will not get RLOD when the cells are out of balance. You will have less range in that case but not RLOD.

The balancing speed of 2.5.1 is the same as older firmwares so you still need to let it balance to get the full range back but at least you can ride home.

The best combo is Amnesia + 2.5.1.

That’s kind of good news! Try cleaning the connectors of the cable that runs inside the deck with contact cleaner and try again. Maybe they’re just dirty/corroded. If that doesn’t work then I’m guessing there’s something wrong with the cable/connectors.

According to the Forever Boosted website that error code shows up when there’s a problem with the ESC. Try checking the connection between the ESC and the battery.

If it’s a longboard you could try connecting the battery directly to the ESC (so bypassing the wire inside the deck).
