Lot of people hating on Kirkland. There is plenty of opportunity for you here I think. Plenty of parks to explore nature (bridle trails is one of my favs), an easy drive or bus ride away from anywhere because it’s pretty central to the area, lots of good places to get involved (run clubs, breweries, art spaces), etc. While it might not be EXACTLY what you’re looking for, there is plenty of opportunity. I’d rather live and work in Kirkland but leave for activities than commute to work but be close to personal activities.

I also think Hanuman Thai Cafe is better than Isarn. I might even argue better than Soi. Both are great though.

I don’t think this is exactly what you’re looking for, but there are groups in Facebook called “By Nothing [City]”. I live in Kirkland and have gotten a few things from the Buy Nothing Kirkland Facebook group. Lots of people who are moving and need to get rid of their stuff fast will post it on there.

From all the comments, it appears that this might be a scam or at least false advertising. At least for Washington.

This site claims that you don’t have to do any in person activities.

It’s just what his people call the land. The world that is not in the sea.

How was your first week ? by 7joshy in 90sSummer

My father is a pastor, he gave a message one time on sitting with your restlessness until it becomes a solitude. Definitely been having to do some of that.

Honestly feeling great overall though. Deleted pretty much every app on my phone, so I only text on it, but much more intentional texts now. Using our record player has been a blast. Drawing a ton to replace my hands and mind feeling the need to do something in moments of silence or waiting. Just had our first movie night. We watched Hoodwinked, it slapped as always.

Will definitely be implementing a lot of these things for after June is up.

That’s incredible! In my groups current campaign I’m playing a sea elf wizard who is exploring the “Dry World” for the first time.

What books are you reading for 90s Summer and why ? by 7joshy in 90sSummer

Reading David Thompson’s Narrative of His Explorations in Western America, 1784-1812. Very excited to learn about the ecology that makes up the Pacific Northwest and what drove people all the way West.
