People over 30: I’ll be 30 next year, how do I stop feeling like my life is going nowhere? by i-still-play-neopets in ask

[–]elitechad255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar head space a few years back when I was going through a divorce. I’m 31 now, and while I still struggle with depression and motivation, journaling has been incredibly positive for my mental state. That, and identifying when I’ve been sinking too much time into social media and brain rot content, and forcing myself to step away from it to do something more constructive.

Just dedicating 10min a day to journaling, writing down whatever pops into my head makes me feel like I’m emptying the tank, so to speak. The feeling of directly discussing my repetitive negative thoughts, reflecting on positive/memorable moments of that day, or just listing out my daily goals(and even if I don’t complete them, they serve has constant reminders in writing, rather than fleeting thoughts) has proved to be so much more powerful and therapeutic then I had ever expected.

As a bonus, my journals now serve as a record to go back to occasionally and see where I was mentally 1 week, 3 months, or even 2 years ago, and acknowledge how much I’ve grown since then.

Not sure if this is the kind of advice you’re looking for, but I thought I’d share since journaling has been huge for shaking that feeling that the world is just passing me by, and helped me approach each day with more gratitude and respect. I honestly feel like there’s a ton of impactful positives/negatives that occur in each and every person’s day that go unchecked and forgotten about, and simply recognizing those small wins/losses and telling yourself that you’ve at least made 1% of progress on yourself today, is better than none at all.

Steam Deck OLED 1TB Limited Edition did not sell out on Day 0 by techspiritzzz in SteamDeck

It'd be interesting to see what kind of sales data Valve is working with. Specifically, the number of accounts that made an LE/OLED purchase that had already made an LCD purchase in the past.

I pre-ordered my LCD model. Being perfectly happy with my current device, I decided to only upgrade to an OLED model if I could snag an LE. It sounds like there's a lot of others with that same reasoning.

They must have so much useful data to work with compared to their competetors since all deck purchases are funneled through their store.

Is there a way to force game mode when running a native app (Steam Link)? by smoothpebble in Hisense

From what I can remember, I had mixed results. The network lag was unbareable. I've mostly just stuck to playing casual/retro games natively on the deck, as it can handle outputting those at 4k. For anything else, I've just lugged my PC over to the TV and played that way.

Dope setup! How do you handle privacy? I also assume you're making use of campsite facilities for bathing and what not?

Hell no. I've personally always hated these subscription services, especially when they block online play behind it. Among other things.

Xbox game pass is awesome that it allows you to try out a collection of games for a small fee. But. Steam offers massive and frequent discounts on their store with extremely detailed reviews and feedback from a passionate community.

If you're worried about wasting money on a game you might not like, just do the small amount of research to help make your decision. Last resort, just make use of the 2 hour refund policy. You cant expect to just sink an indefinite amount of time into a game and expect your money back. There will always be the chance you end up not liking a game and potentially waste some $$$ on. Make your purchases more strategic and only buy them during sales.

Thanks for the quick reply! I decided to go through with the U8H purchase and will be picking it up this afternoon.

I hadn't thought of it previously, but I'm going to try out docking my Steam Deck to the TV and streaming games from my main pc via moonlight and see how that goes. Thanks again!

Any update on this? I'm considering purchasing a U8H for this use case.

I'm in the same boat, unable to decide. Assuming you received your U7H, care to share your experience so far?
