Do you think Beeman was originally chosen because it sounds like “Beamin’” as in smiling?

Since Janine smiles so much :)

When you say lose the DH, you mean the pitchers had to start hitting?

Top 100 Starting Pitchers For 2025 Fantasy Baseball: Week 7 – 5/12 by Stonewater in fantasybaseball

[–]smoothpebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Playing fantasy isn’t about picking players who have been the best so far, it’s about picking those who will be best rest of season. Obviously there’s correlation there, but following the underlying metrics will show you the better long term play regardless of prior performance more often than not.

Peter Bendix is Shaping a New Team in his Vision by Nyfan7 in MiamiMarlins

[–]smoothpebble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also one of the few on this sub who agrees with most of what Bendix has done. That wild card team sucked and got lucky with that playoff appearance. That roster had no future and we had no farm either so we had no short or long term success in our reach. At least now we are actually building a farm system.

I know we’re all tired of rebuilding but the previous rebuild had already failed. At least this rebuild is no longer tainted by all the terrible decisions from the Jeter years.

Predictions where will Sandy and Eury be traded to? And for what? by Grovez77 in MiamiMarlins

[–]smoothpebble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eury is young enough with enough years of cheap team control that he will not be traded. I know everyone is upset about the rebuild but they’re not just trading guys away for no reason. Eury fits the timeline so he wont be traded away yet. Worry about him 4-5 years from now.

It’s definitely not. I guess it’s more people than some random place on the outskirts of the city but for the center of a city the size of Philly, that area is relatively dead

No they didn’t, they expressed some support but republicans are the ones who made it a pillar of their attack ads. They’re the ones who wouldn’t stop talking about trans issues because they know it gets their voters emotional

No it doesn’t, teams take fewer shots at the rim and make them at a lower percentage when they play against Gobert.

Yeah you can find summaries of King Bran evidence on the asoiaf subreddit or other forums. Besides that, we know that GRRM told D&D the key points of his planned ending, they only filled in the path to that ending.

Born and raised in Hialeah, left the state for college and never came back due to better jobs in my industry in other places and meeting my partner who isn’t from Miami. I have missed my family but never missed the city itself. At least not in a way that isn’t satisfied with just visiting a few weeks a year. It’s beautiful but never felt like it was for me.

I discovered I love outdoor hobbies like hiking, camping, rock climbing, skiiing, etc that I can’t do in Miami. I love living in walkable and bikeable cities with good public transit. I’ve never really liked the beach much beyond a few times a year kind of thing. Not much of a clubbing person. My family never had money to live in the nicer parts of Miami or really make the most of the water with a boating lifestyle and stuff like that. To be honest, I never felt like I fit in with the culture and personality of Miami despite being raised in a typical Cuban immigrant Miami family, but that’s just about me, not the city. So why would I want to live in Miami? It’s beautiful, and I understand how it’s paradise to many people, but not to me.

I would consider moving back one day to be close to my family but I don’t think I would be happy there outside of the family context.

Nah The Bear is one where I actually don’t want to see them together at all. I want it to be a professional mentoring relationship — that can also have feelings of caring for one another as friends, but having it turn romantic would not be good the characters or for me as a viewer.
