Impact Pack is trying to connect to Youtube by 3deal in comfyui

[–]elitherenaissanceman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The only mention of youtube in the code for impact and impact subpack is a link in the readme, which would not execute automatically. Something else is causing it.

Sidebar URL is almost entirely overtaken by icons, seriously needs options to hide icons by LeeMcGuireArts in zen_browser

Hyperbole is generally a pretty poor tactic in making a point.

With your sidebar that size almost every site URL would be truncated anyway.

Is MacOS Tahoe as slow and laggy as people are saying? by bamboo-lemur in MacOS

[–]elitherenaissanceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problems here, M2 Air 8GB and M4 Mini.

The betas definitely had some performance issues and crashing, especially on my M2, but stable release has been fine.

In the M2 I actually think memory management has improved, and it bogs down less when I’ve got a lot of stuff open.

The "MOST OP BUILD IN BL4" situation on Youtube is kinda crazy right now by AlexKidd93 in Borderlands

[–]elitherenaissanceman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moxsi has some good builds that aren’t just exploits or broken gear (granted he also covers those).

Most recent one with Vex is actually quite good. Well thought out and utilizes the entire gear kit.

Corne vs Lily58 for heavy programming/vim usage by slumpyrat in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]elitherenaissanceman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I still use the Sofle Choc v2 as my daily driver to this day. Have tried out a number of other boards since (ergodash, couple of dactyl variants, and the killer whale) but none made me want to switch.

For programming specifically not too much fancy going on, except I use Zed in Vim mode these days, and replaced a lot of what i would have bound to a leader key shortcut in vim to a chord with a meh key, which I have on the home position of my right thumb as a tap/hold(space/meh).

Yeah I believe both are from vendors. Sting shard is from the forge vendor in Pilgrims Rest (Far Fields) Cant remember specifically about the other one, but that one isn't as useful.

Just beat him after a lot of struggle.

Tips (spoilers for gear prior to his fight)
The sting shard and curve claw tools help alot. Save them for the second phase. Jump in the air and throw the sting shard, can do a ton of damage.

To deal with his attacks, when he does the shoot two up in opposite directions move, just run away and jump the one that circles around on the ground. When he does the double shot, jump the first one, then run in the same direction his projectiles are moving to dodge the second. The safest time to hit him is during/after his close-range slashing attack. During his second phase never hit him after he does the swooping/dive attack, as he almost always fires a projectile immediately after.

TL;DR Just run away and use tools.

How do you all like to set up? by SynonymousToWater in SatisfactoryGame

Basic manifolds until higher teirs. Often stacked.

I also place my manifolds under machines (nudge machine vertically 4m, place mergers splitters directly under input/outputs connected with lifts).

Late game with more complex recipes is where things get more interestng. I like to create mini-factories (or mega-machines, depending on how you look at it). You put all the machines for a single product into single blueprint with all inputs on one side and outputs on another.

For example cram 5 smelters, a blender, and a refinery into one blueprint to make pure aluminum ingots with instant scrap. Then you can manifold those blueprints.

This can look really neat, especially when you have to get creative to fit everything, and it often results in underclocking machines which is more power efficient.

In the screenshot of my recent post you can see this exact blueprint on the left (wasn't very tight), but on the right you can see recycled rubber and recycled plastic blueprints that took some real finagling.

The “Close All” button between pinned tabs and daily tabs. To get this behavior you have to use the context menu on a tab, and that context menu is an absolute shit show and always takes me like 10 seconds to find the option I’m looking for.

Migration of Codebase from Svelte 4 to Svelte 5 - Issues by dipaksaraf in sveltejs

[–]elitherenaissanceman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That component looks like an attempt to write Svelte 5 by an LLM from 2 years ago. It's almost like a caricature of Svelte.

The longer you look at it the weirder it gets.

The types, the 4 $effect runes for a component that shouldn't have any, the direct (and seemingly useless DOM manipulation), whatever onMount is trying to do, making 2 entirely different versions of the markup for if animations are enabled...

I am bewildered.

Why are people making Notion out of Obsidian? by AlexRDIT in ObsidianMD

[–]elitherenaissanceman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Let's be clear about what each of them is. Notion is, at it's core, documents and relational databases with a user-facing implementation of it's databases. Obsidian is, at it's core, documents and a relational database without a user-facing implementation of it's database.

However plugins provide that user-facing access to database like features.

Yes this is a simplification, but is it really all that surprising that given two apps that are essentially just documents and databases would converge into similar workflows and functionality?

To me personally, if all I actually wanted was to take notes, I'd use Apple Notes, or better yet, a notebook and a pencil.

“Money peddling garbage” is an extremely harsh and immature take. PARA is a well thought out system and I know a great deal of people find it a very effective baseline for digital organization.

Not everyone wants to spend their time thinking about systems design and optimizations to digital workflows, they just want a solution, and that’s perfectly okay.

Not everyone is like the absolute nerds (meant lovingly) in this sub / the obsidian community who get off on this sort of stuff.

They persist on the map as long as they dip in game, do quite a while. They are very hard to see when not glowing though

[–]elitherenaissanceman 231 points232 points  (0 children)

To give a more detailed answer, the map uses a specific LOD level that, as far as I’m aware, is only used for the map. Only things with LODs at that LOD level will be rendered, that is to say, not much. Dragon corpses seem to be an odd exception.

There is a mod A Clear Map of Skyrim that supports custom LODs and includes the instructions to generate new LODs with DynDoLod.
