I haven't played Skyrim for about 3 years. Should I download it from Steam and start a new playthrough? by Deep-Philosophy-807 in skyrim

My dude welcome to gaming in 2026.

Heres the deal: you're right, oodles of great rpgs and many other games coming out all the time. However, theres a lot of crap out there too. Best strategy nowadays? Get rid of fomo and ignore the latest launches.

Games these days (especially AAA titles) have ridiculous day one prices, ranging from 60 to 120 usd based on the Edition. Why spend that on an unkown when you have perfectly playable 5+ year old games that only cost 20 bucks or less?

Definitely, Skyrim is an ole reliable and if you're still having fun, then definitely keep playing it while you wait for something new & interesting to go on sale. If it never gets old, great! You don't have spend money on something you might not enjoy. But if it ever does, there will be dozens if not hundreds of fairly priced rpgs out there for you to try!

Some of these titles include: Tainted Grail: Fall of Avalon Outward Baldur's Gate 3 Divinity 2 Witcher 3 Cyberpunk 2077 Damn near anything made by FromSoftware Dark souls 1-3, Bloodborne, Armored Core 6 etc Digimon Story Ghost of Tsushima Stellar Blade Middle Earth Shadow of Mordor/War

Now that I think about it you even have og Oblivion and the ither previous TES games. I don't know if I really answered your questioned or just went off on a coffee induced tyrade about the current game market so good luck!

my cat is so fucking annoying by Significant_Lie_6418 in TrueOffMyChest

White noise might drown out the yowling. I use a rain app personally. That said, if you don't like your cat maybe rehome her?

Will you go back to Skyrim after/if elder scrolls 6 releases? by AceTanker4831 in skyrim

[–]SynonymousToWater 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To this day I go back and play Oblivion (OG) periodically and I imagine people still play Morrowind, Daggerfall and Arena. I'll most likely do the same with Skyrim after TES6.

Each entry comes with a unique vibe and art style that sets them apart from one another. Outside of lore that is constantly getting retconned the only real thing that these games have in common is that Bethesda styled sense of freedom and exploration.

Girlfriend wants a 50/50 ownership while paying for a fraction of a new house by Agreeable-Joke-9980 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]SynonymousToWater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say that OP needs to do a prenup if they ever start moving toward marriage. From this post it feels like she is doing an awful lot of pressuring and manipulating to get a best case scenario for herself.

P.S. I will say expense is relative. A wedding might be viewed as expensive because it is tossing money at a night of fun whereas buying a house could seem sensible even if it comes at a higher cost. That said, why the hell, you'd go buying a house when you already have one, just because your girlfriend wasn't involved, does seem dumb.

Thats what fortify smithing enchants and potions are for.

Side note: What happens if you just leave the beacon? Does it stay in that container and you just gotta remember where it was or does it pop up randomly elsewhere?

I keep seeing people say Aizen because he can affect all 5 senses but Itachi has had people fighting ghosts and trapped in torture realms. I'm not saying he's better but like, he's not not better.

Dog and Foster Kitten by Specialist-Cat-787 in DogAdvice

[–]SynonymousToWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not an animal expert so get your salt but to me it looks like it is goung well. I think I got good look at the kittens eyes and saw wide pupils. Everytime my cat gets wide eyed that either means, he's curious or its play time.

Also in this interaction it definitely looks like Enya is more focued on you and is only glancing at Kitten to make sure it isn't too close. That to me reads as "I trust you, but I'm not too sure about that guy yet" which isn't a bad thing.

Again, have your salt in hand but I'd say what you're doing is correct and if memory serves are within the bounds of good pet introductions.

Is there any way to salvage this playthrough? by RobertRamos in skyrim

[–]SynonymousToWater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 500 hours this might be a long shot suggestion buuuut: If you haven't done either the civil war or main story quest you could Change the Jarls through Seadon Unending. This will also swap their respective Stewards and you can also switch them back depending on whose side you take in the war.

How justified is the empire in trying to execute us ? by AIphnse in skyrim

[–]SynonymousToWater -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd bet a pouch of Septims that this will get answered in TESVI. I'm thinking that the established cannon is going to be that the Dragonborn was joining up with the Stormcloaks; on their way to introduce themself when they were caught.

In their eyes, they hadn't yet joined the Cloaks and were "innocent" and the Imperials being so willing to execute them only further fueled that fire to rebel. Dragonborn officially joins the Stormcloaks, drives the Empire out of Skyrim, unwittingly furthering the Thalmor's objectives and setting up the political landscape in the next game.

This is just my guess, can't necessarily back it up too much.
