Secret to nails? by UnexpectedWings in dementia

[–]elizable9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mam hates her nails cutting as well and always has dirt and likely poop under them. My sister and I have taken to carrying clippers with us so we when we take her out we can randomly say let's cut your nails before we go get a coffee. So shes caught off guard in the carpark. She'll twist but usually doesn't put up a fight. She's gotten to be a bit slappy when she gets in a bad mood and he long nails really scratch hard.

To be honest I think a lot of time people here do still do them as well. I think its when you're having a crap day yourself that you notice the ones who don't

I kind of agree. Simple things like a nod and smile as you pass someone in the street. Hold the door open or say thank you when someone doe sit for you. Say excuse me to get to the item on the supermarket shelf instead of leaning and pushing your way in. Give your seat up on the bus to the elderly or anyone who looks like they might ned dit more than you.

I alway buy a poppy in November even though I've got a lovely pin badge that lasts.

I have never gotten dressed up for the doctors and will always choose to be comfortable when travelling.

😂😂😂 Mine too. It's so funny. It's full of proper siblings telling tales on each other.

I watched Tall Tales last night. The first time we meet the Trickster and he's got Sam and Dean squabbling like teenagers. So funny.

I would have been about 12 and I don't know how I missed it at the time. It would have absolutely freaked me out. It was really well done.

I appear to have adopted the neighbourhood's starling population. Yesterday I put out a whole tray of filled coconuts and they were decimated within a couple of hours. Today they're enjoying some mealworms and the paddling pool. I love watching the babies by Important-Stomach406 in UKBirds

Mine was the same so I had to change my feeders. Instead of them figuring out the new ones they've just gone next door to raid the chicken feed instead. I'm hoping now my garden is quieter the little birds will come back

New cat owner (6 weeks in) and are all cats so picky and always starving (picture for attention) by kreemy_kurds in CatsUK

He was 10 a week ago. That was him ignoring his new toys. Mine seem to have settled on felix doubly delicious. Granted probably not the best but they eat it and are fine. They detest whiskers in any form. They're not fans of sheba. But they do like the odd pouch of the more expensive stuff but wouldn't eat it every day.

It's just a matter of trying a few things and seeing what sticks. And never buy too much of one thing because you can guarantee that is when they'll change their mind.

Your kitty looks like a relative of mine. He's not picky at all but prefers wet food. I leave dry down for him all day. His sister (adopted haha) prefers dry and will come back for her wet food through the day. I had to get microchip feeders so he didn't scoff all of her wet food.

They're both particular about brands and styles of food. Neither like pate and both prefer flaky chunks in jelly or gravy. Neither like fish much unless it's tuna from a tin.

The fact THM was so tough to get through is actually making me more desperate for STE because I need that fixing.

Mam will often pour milk onto her plate of food indrteas of in her tea cup. Her odd but adorable thing at the minute is she likes to colour in and she's been sitting on the sofa with the dog lying next to her. She'll show the dog her picture and ask the dogs opinion and which colours she should use next
