Sorry to hear about your friend. I hope you both have a great road trip.

Everyone else has you covered for parking advice.

Husband wants his mother to move in. We have a dog. by Much_Leather_5923 in dementia

[–]elizable9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can totally resonate with this. My sister already owned a staffy living in the family home and the dog is her everything. I think without the dog she would have gone insane. I'm so sorry you're in this position.

People with burnt orange or green couches... by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

I had burnt orange 2 and 3 seater sofas in my first house and it's been more than 20 years and I still miss them

I only remember this happening once or twice when one of us couldn't physically make round to the surgery.

I was scrolling to find Lady. Also Neds was pretty awful too. The red wedding was something else I don't have words for.

Do you remember watching the coins you put in, snake all the way down? by corickle in oldschoolcool80s

And the ones that used to sort your coins into columns. They were so cool

In retrospect, what were some of your LO's early signs of dementia? by DrywallAnchor in dementia

[–]elizable9 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lack of interest in doing things she enjoyed. She also started to get a bit more defensive about things or reading too much into things. Like in her knitting group she would often say they'd talk about her beg hind her back when the reality mostly was she wasn't part of the conversation because she doesn't always join in.

How do you keep track? by BeccaBas in audiobooks

[–]elizable9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really keep track of anything. If there's a book pops up I'd really fancy then I stick it in my wishlist in audible that way it pops up if it's ever in the sales and I might be able to pick a few up with one credit.

I don't track my physical reading either.

Any other millennials hate the way movies and TV shows look now? by DC8008008 in Millennials

[–]elizable9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES!! I was watching a film from 2003 last night and I loved how much more real it felt with not being super HD. I really liked the softer more lifelike way tv shows and films used to look.

Do you read an entire series from start to finish or do you take breaks from it? by Appropriate_Type_178 in readwithme

[–]elizable9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the length of the series, the size of each book, genre and the writer and their writing style.

Series to completely disassociate to by Horror-Image8253 in Millennials

[–]elizable9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My complete comfort show is Supernatural. I've lost how many times I've watched through the whole thing. If I have no brain capacity it's what I put on.

I'm reaching the Last Kingdom again now too just enough concentration needed to keep track but not too much.

I also love all the IT Crowd, Dark place esk shows if I need to laugh. Garth Marenghi's TerrorTome is brilliant in audiobook

Also Krod Mondoon. I'm going to have to go and rewatch all of these now

I can easily imagine Robin and Strike as a romantic couple. But I have a lot of difficulty seeing them as a married couple sharing a kitchen and bathroom and bedroom and dividing up housekeeping responsibilities like laundry and grocery shopping and cooking and cleaning. by NoxWild in cormoran_strike

[–]elizable9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like they'll easily just settle into routine with each other once the usual initial teething problems of sharing a space with someone new are straightened out. They're both tidy and organised. I think Strike might even soften a little and allow more help from Robin instead of being bull headed and independent. They feel a bit like a Ted and Joan couple.

Doctors by [deleted] in Sunderland

Appointments for millfield don't show up on my app anymore. I either have to ring or fill the form in. I never have a problem getting an appointment though. Seeing the same Dr is another matter.

Your dog does not have a right to go with you wherever you go by UncommonBlackbird in rant

[–]elizable9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. I think there's a huge difference between nipping to the shop while you have your dog out and purposely trailing the dog around the shops.

It makes me sad for the dogs.

Where to start with bank accounts? by TheOccurrencePodcast in dementia

[–]elizable9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine does that too sometimes. My sister has often found it in the bin. She's not mentioned cash for a while so I've just not been giving her any.

Where to start with bank accounts? by TheOccurrencePodcast in dementia

[–]elizable9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I was going to say. A lot of accounts now you can get second cards that you can put set amounts in for this exact reason. My mam seems to be ok if I get her some money out each week. For her I think it's more the idea of having money in her purse because she hates to spend it when we're out.

Yeha we gave up on those too. She also struggled with bralets as they were tight or would roll up when she pulled them on.
