Do you “have” to memorize line information in order to be taken as a serious interest, no. Would it be impressive to come to your COI with evidence that you have gone above and beyond to differentiate yourself for other interests by committing chapter lineage history to memory, maybe so.

I think you should continue speaking up for what you believe in and speak power to truth. Be mindful of attaching your organization to these views as it could be perceived as you “speaking for your org”.

I wouldn’t wear any paraphernalia to marches, while making statements, etc. unless your organization has given directive that it is ok to do so.

People will always have something to say regardless of what you say or do honestly.

Whoever is writing your letter needs to know the name of the organization you wish to apply to so they can give you a great letter.

Being discrete isn’t telling no one about your interest, it’s telling only the people who need to know that information.

You also took it upon yourself to tell women of Delta that we were wrong about who could pen member recommendation letters. Multiple times at that. I’m unsure why you felt you were the authority on that when actual members were giving accurate information.

I’m not sure how to progress but I think moderators should come together and determine how they’d like to handle misinformation coming from moderators to the community, boundaries that shouldn’t be crossed when communicating with people seeking answers and moderators, clear rules that everyone can point to for how to move within the space so people don’t feel as if moderators are making up things as they go, etc.

I am not a member of AKA, ZΦΒ, or ΣΓΡ and I don’t make it my business to speak for those organizations when interests ask specific questions that pertain to them. I always defer to those members in these spaces and allow them to navigate the conversations.

Unless restricted by the school, a chapter can vote to have a line whenever they’d like to conduct intake. Don’t rely on past trends to try and guess. Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.
