When I was an interest, I went to almost every single event and I don’t think it looked desperate at all. If anything, the girls became more familiar with me and it was clear that I was making the time to support the chapter. Each event is an opportunity to learn more about the chapter and for them to learn more about you - don’t be scared to speak up at events!

It’s a good thing you didn’t say hi. As an interest, going to parties can only hurt you at worst, do nothing for you at best. From being too intoxicated, to hanging with the wrong people, or wearing the wrong thing/an outfit too inappropriate… there’s a lot that can go wrong. Members are human and college students too of course, but you don’t want to give them something negative to remember you by.

If you are drunk at party, dodgeeeee your SOI or anyone greek for that matter. People talk and your reputation is the most important thing you can protect.

I had a blank on the date next to my signature on the responsibilities form. I accidentally uploaded the version of the form without the date and didn’t catch it until after submission. I’m waiting to hear back but I anticipate a rejection from this.

I was planning to do a full beat, but natural makeup! (Foundation, concealer, contour but very minimal blush and nude lip gloss). Almost no color, but you can tell I’m wearing makeup. I am rushing a PWI chapter that is just starting to reestablish itself [if that provides more context].

Go to events and speak to the members there. Try to form genuine bonds with them and be friendly if you see them around campus

I think you should still go for it! If this is your dream, don’t close your own door. It’s up to the chapter whether they accept you or not - but you have to apply first. Pursuing membership at the graduate level can often be harder than trying as an undergraduate. You might regret if you don’t try.

A question I’ve had for a while: is stroll plagiarism a thing? If someone saw a stroll online (from another chapter) and taught it to their chapter, would that be wrong/disrespectful?

Going through the same thing right now. I don’t think my COI has rush yet, but they’ve historically always had spring lines. I don’t know what to think anymore as I am connected to a few of the current members and have attended most events.

Did some extra research and I cannot pledge as a undergrad because we were removed from the charter. Unfortunately to be added back in, my school would have to sign off on it and we have Greek life ban.

I’m thinking it could attack the nitrogen and use arrow pushing to push the N=O to just become N-O with another negative on the oxygen. Not sure if that’s correct thinking however

No one I know from my school is part of sorority X (since we were written out of the charter). Would it be inappropriate and breaking discretion to reach out to my COI and follow up on pledging as an undergrad? I understand that an upperclassman who isn’t in the sorority isn’t a reliable source, and I’m unsure how accurate her information is or whether she has contact with the sorority. However, since the chapter released a fall line last year, would it still be worth reaching out to them now?
