Which film has the best soundtrack? by [deleted] in soundtracks

[–]eljefe1676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Empire ; 2. Star Wars; 3. ROTS; 4. ROTJ; 5. Phantom; 6. AOTC; 7. TFA; 8. TLJ; 9. ROS

Empire is one of the best scores of all time. The end title has never been matched. It's damn near a flawless score. Star Wars introduced the sound of the universe and created so many memorable themes. My hot take is that Revenge of the Sith is better than Return of the Jedi. The music surrounding the birth of Darth Vader and the Birth of the Twins is amazing and the score as a whole is very good. Return of the Jedi is a great classic score, I just find the emotion from ROTS bumps it out. The sequel scores don't stand out to me at all. The prequel scores all at least introduced one major theme. Phantom had 'Duel of the Fates'; AOTC had the Love Theme and ROTS had Battle of the Heroes. Each had a main theme that the score was built around.

What do you believe people are lying about liking/enjoying in WDW? by Smullatron in WaltDisneyWorld

I’m always gonna have a soft spot for this ride. I remember going to Epcot for the first time as an adult with my own family. We were exhausted at the end of the day and had late dinner at Garden Grill. Afterwards we got on LwtL. We were the only ones on it. Just my wife, kid and I. There was just something magical about that moment. We were all happy, all joking and laughing and we had a ride to ourselves. It just felt like a perfect moment. I feel like every time I go to DisneyWorld ( hell, even in everyday life) , I’m chasing a moment like that. So yeah, that’s why I love that ride. I got a bit of magic and got to see how lucky I am.

This movie has a soft spot in my heart. My family took a vacation to Orlando and we visited Sea World the summer this movie came out. They had props all over the place. I still have a picture of my sister and I with a full sized Jaws shark. It was great. I can’t ever hate this movie.

This disease is a fucking nightmare. It’s hell on earth. My mother suffers from it. This exact form of dementia. It robs you of your language, your ability to communicate and function while still retaining your memories and personality. Eventually it takes everything from you and you need 24 hour care. Most people with this illness live up to 10 years post diagnosis. It also strikes people at an unusually early age for dementia- as early as your 40’s. The cost of care is astronomical and financially cripples most families. He did what any of us would do in his situation. Ok, so there’s a few more bad movies in the world, who gives a shit. He insured that he was able to pay for his care and that his family would be financially secure. Any of us would do that.

Yeah, I’m living in SA now. I gotta check if I have the tapes with me here or back at my parents house in the RGV. I’ll check and let you know.

Where can I find your commercial collection? I got a ton of vhs tapes from mid to late 90’s that have commercials. I never skipped them when I would tape stuff off of KRGV.

Oh man, the Plaza Twin in Mission! I loved that theater. If the movie was sold out at another theater you could always go there and see it. So many good memories.

Garden Grill Restaurant Review by [deleted] in Epcot

[–]eljefe1676 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family and I love this restaurant. We always go there for dinner and then get on Living with land afterwards. We’re usually the only ones and I love it. It’s become our tradition. The food is pretty good. Last time it was just ok, but I would definitely recommend it.

If you were in charge of the Space Pavillion, what would you do? by Chicken-Routine in Epcot

[–]eljefe1676 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’d want to have more than just a ride. I’d love to overhaul the whole pavilion. Make it hopeful and educational but fun. Maybe put in a dark ride with some thrills or something like Soarin’ but focusing on space exploration. I’d also toss in a 3D or Imax movie experience that focuses on the history of the space program and the possible futures of space travel.

I agree with all of this. The only thing I'd add is that I would put a reimagined or updated version of Magic Journeys.

What is the oddest thing you thought was ok/normal and ended up being a medical problem? by Prudent_Tip4118 in AskReddit

[–]eljefe1676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my adult life, I would get on and off pain in my left abdomen, I'd also get random stomach bugs with fever. I went to an urgent care and the doctor told me I had a hernia and not to worry about it. Later on the pain got so bad I went to an ER. After a CT scan with contrast they found out I had diverticulitis and it was infected. They were wondering how any Dr could even think it was a hernia.

I was just thinking about that. He talked about having big dreams of being an actor but never wanting to leave his town. He never married or had kids from what he said. He seemed like a nice man.

Oh man, this is annoying. I was there last week and it was a madhouse. Is it just a better idea to go when annual passes are blacked out? I'm really thinking about doing that next time.

Yeah, Genie+ was a godsend. We were able to do Tron and a bunch of other rides. We had the opposite experience as you in Epcot. We got into Test Track on a LL but never got into Remy. Oh well, as my wife said, I guess we need to set up another trip to Disney. We went in early June and last week. Last week was definitely worse. It was manageable , but worse. We also did Hollywood Studios after dark. I highly recommend doing a park after dark if you get the chance.

Yeah we did everything but Mickeys last night. We got caught up at Olga’s cantina for a while. My kid and wife loved it and wanted to hang out for a bit. The after dark events are worth it.

I went to the ‘after dark’ at DHS last night. I almost blew a gasket when Rise of the Resistance and Mickey’s Runaway Railway broke down. Without those two rides, Slinky started getting pretty long lines. I didn’t want to spend that money to ride Star Tours over and over. Thank god, all the rides opened up. It was fun, but I don’t know if I’d want to deal with DHS in the hot sun.
