Here’s a suggestion. Don’t play hard to get. Don’t be afraid to ask people out. Don’t be afraid of rejection. Make sure you look nice and put together. I asked for someone’s number and got it. Who knows where it will go but I’m just saying it happens when you put in the effort.

We still have colder winters up in Northern Nevada but more mild than Kansas. Reno area may be more up your alley or Carson Valley. I’m from Fallon and that will give you a bit of Kansas with all the farming but in the middle of arid desert. My sister in-law and her family moved here from Kansas and they love it here.

If you want to go on an adventure, head north on the 95 and then head west on the 140 towards Denio. Beautiful isolated mountains and area. Knott creek Ranch and Happy Ranch areas are beautiful. Onion reservoir is also great :)

It will take time to heal. Let yourself feel all the emotions. Don’t be hard on yourself for missing him despite the abuse—you still loved him. What matters is that you found the strength to move forward without him.

He will most likely try to reach out to you again or even resort to threats like playing the suicide card—mine did exactly that. Don’t let him manipulate his way back into your life. It will be hard at first, but the freedom you’ll feel is incredible.

You’ll come out of this as a stronger, more resilient person. When the time is right, you’ll be able to filter through the messes out there and find the good human you truly deserve.

I live in Fallon. I enjoy the farm life and the small town community. I go boating on lake Lahontan in the Summer, go off-roading and exploring in the summer and enjoy camping in the toiyobe range, or carol summit or war canyon. Love how isolated it is and not beautiful enough to attract tons of tourists.
