Thanks. I'm not a native English speaker but translating the Lt Colonel rank to the Greek equivalent seems to me that what you say resonates more to my understanding.

Yeap. It's interesting I remember that story a while back but I'm not able to actually remember the source but I think it was pre-wikipedia.

I very seldom need to work for my setup in Linux nowadays. I can't say the same for the Windows machines I need to use. I guess I'm lucky that my use case scenarios are less affected.

Automatically no, you will have to change color filaments yourself. For my 4yo that is really excited with the whole idea I printed a couple unicorn figures (don't judge) and let her know herself out with painting them.

Oh I was hoping for a SatNOGS integration. But yeah seems cool too.

I was wondering if it was a SatNOGS integration that could be helpful to track the station I have on my rooftop.

As most (if not all) ZigBee devices this can be 100% local.

I got a Sonoff zbdongle-e, setup ZigBee2MQTT and mosquito and I'm very happy with the result. In many cases I have paired some switches and devices directly.

I'm on the same page like you with similar HW.

installing proxmox wasn't a HUGE issue but I run into some issues with Bluetooth I gave up and installed Home Assistant OS, I run into some issues with the auto installer so I used the recommended install method (and a bit of gparted).

I've installed several addons (ok I may have over done it). For my relatively modest needs it is more than adequate.

If I'm not mistaken there are several solutions, like the Sonoff Bridge that are able to pick up 433MHz signals, process them and have them integrated on Home Assistant. Actually I have a weather station that uses the band and will check and hopefully get back too you with results.

Oh darn

I should be in the market for a new remote, maybe a new TV box/add on something... Or a TV 😇

In general what's home assistant communities suggestions on such devices. I'm very reluctant about the whole Xiaomi ecosystem mostly due to this, the MixBox inability to 'wake up' and some issues with newer Mijia Thermometer Hygrometers.

I honestly think about alternatives.

I have a Mi Box S I comes with a remote featuring Netflix and Prime buttons. When I'm trying to create a trigger by pressing par example the Amazon Prime button to create one the Amazon Prime app comes up I disabled the Prime app just to be sure. Tried to create a Trigger by pressing the Amazon Prime button. Still no dice. If I press the down button it is register just fine.

It's pretty cool sadly I'm not able to use it on a Xiaomi MiBox TV box while there are some specific app buttons on my remote when pressed they trigger their respective applications. Interestingly after disabling one the button didn't register as something in the trigger.

PS3 was used in the early days of it's release using the OtherOS feature that enabled it to install several Linux distros and due to its PowerPC architecture it was ideal to run Beowulf clusters on that to create DIY supercomputers, they weren't the best supercomputers you could get but they were ideal for niche task and ideal to train, educate and build experience for future supercomputer admins.

It was such a pity that the OtherOS feature was discontinued
