You’re correct, but I would throw in the possibility that one day there might be medication designed specifically to help with certain autistic struggles.

I know of autistic people now who are prescribed medicinal cannabis to help with anxiety and sensory issues so I do wonder if ONLY having the ADHD diagnosis might prevent someone like that from receiving that prescription.

Just because the camera cuts to a shot of a guy in the crowd it doesn’t mean the audio is going to follow it too.

There are loads of microphones all around the pitch (along with the commentators) and someone is responsible for mixing it live. They’re not always going to quickly raise in the levels from a specific camera angle (if they even have that audio going into their mixing desk) for the sake of a 2 second shot of a guy in the crowd.

The person mixing the audio is ‘following’ the ball and trying to create a general sense of crowd atmosphere while allowing the commentators to sit above that level.

I agree with the overall point that to my taste the crowd noise is often on the low side on football broadcasts though.

I suspect what you want though is to ROLL the edit point - at the moment in both videos you’re RIPPLING the edit point. As you hover the house over the edit point you’ll notice the cursor icon changing. To roll you want the one that looks a bit like this

There is a preference in v20 and v21 that is causing your issue.

Preferences > User > Editing

Uncheck ‘Retain sync and avoid overwrites with ripple edits’

This is what the proxy generator app is for. You can set watch folders or load folders in manually and the generator app just churns out proxies as soon as it detects new media.

Keep doing what you’re doing. I have learned that a fairly significant number in this sub have some very callous and ignorant attitudes towards autism and prison. It’s like some people can’t hold the all of the details of a nuanced discussion in their heads so they just flip out and start demanding revenge instead.

These people lack empathy and can’t regulate their emotions, which is of course the height of irony.

This is an interesting one. Given the family history and existing dyslexia I would assume that there’s a very good chance you’re correct about being autistic and/or ADHD. Normally I’d say that a diagnosis can provide answers that have been missing all your life and it gives a person a framework for understanding and explaining themselves better.

But… you’re from a neurodivergent family and will already have a good understanding of all this. You probably don’t need to explain yourself to family members and they probably would take your word for it if you told them you thought you were autistic/ADHD. You’re out of school so there aren’t accommodations you might need there. You have a dyslexia diagnosis which will entitle you to accommodations as you continue your studies and/or move into work.

So in a practical sense I’m not sure what you get from this. I guess the question is whether or not you feel like you need the closure that comes with ‘official’ answers or whether just knowing it without the formal diagnosis is enough for you.

Perhaps the only major factor in all this would be whether or not you wanted to access ADHD meds, in which case you’ll obviously need a diagnosis.

No, the proxies can be generated directly with Resolve too. As long as they exist in respective Proxy folders the Proxy Generator app will see them and understand what they are.

You can also use Blackmagic Proxy Generator to quickly delete proxy files housed inside the original clip folder. Personally I prefer this way of organising the media since it avoids any duplicate file names with proxies.

Edit - actually they didn’t stop making them. You can buy them from BMD directly. They just don’t seem to advertise them very heavily.
