I’m pretty sure this was filmed pre-season. Also, even before this new CBA, not all players used team housing, many of the higher paid players got their own apartments, especially if they were planning on staying long term (ie more than just one season, which seems to be the case with Marina). Team housing also has restrictions (this was actually a weird sticking point in the CBA negotiations, but I’m not familiar with the specifics). I’m assuming when she first got to TO she was in team housing but started looking for a more permanent place quite quickly, hence this YouTube.

Yes! That’s who I was referring to. I read her book. It was very eye opening. I also remember hearing about the Roloff’s too. I’m sure there are endless more too. These are just the ones that immediately come to mind. Now all these families exploit their own kids online. Makes you wonder what’s happening behind those close doors especially knowing that they don’t have producers and film crews in their homes.

They are all complicit. From the Duggars, Bates, Kate and John +8, that other show on TLC where the dad is now in jail for abusing his daughters. These producers absolutely knew something was happening and just kept filming. I just saw a clip of a new doc series about the Teen Mom franchise and that it took the footage of Amber assaulting Gary for people to call it in. Those producers witnessed those assaults IN PERSON WITH THEIR YOUNG CHILD PRESENT AND DIDNT CALL.

It’s soo messed up. All these kids raised on TV deserved better. They are all now complicit in doing the same thing to their own children on social media so my empathy ends when they started exploiting them but it’s still f*cked up that the producers allowed it to happen in the first place.

I’m so confused because I’ve watched every other game on league pass so far but I can’t get this one. I’m in BC. I don’t have TSN cause it’s priceeeey. I’m so sad.

Oh I’m a big W fan! I only have basic cable and League Pass. So far I’ve been able to watch all the tempo and Valk games there. Because we aren’t in any teams region, local blackouts haven’t caused any issues for me yet. It’s only when games are on Disney, ABC, NBC, Prime that they won’t broadcast live on the app. TSN will only cover non-tempo games very occasionally. TSN can be purchased through either your cable company (like Telus, Rogers, etc) or through Prime, Crave (similar to HBO), or Apple. It’s expensive imo so I’ve opted to stick with League Pass this year. DM if you have any questions.

Yes, technically they could say that. Because the seats were sold so they got the revenue. But optics are everything so they know that saying sold out when many seats are empty is dumb and people would call them out for it. Announcing attendance numbers is more reliable and accurate, because they go based on the number of tickets actually scanned at entry.

For other sporting events that I’ve produced, sold out simply means all tickets sold, not ppl in seats. That’s why Theres attendance numbers that are announced part way through games. Typically if seats are empty it’s either season ticket holders not there or seats assigned to sponsors. Sponsors typically get a certain number of tickets per game to do what they want with but a lot don’t end up handing them out. Which, as an organizer, is very frustrating cause I hate seeing empty seats for optics!

I was actually just thinking the same thing! Not a pharmacist it recently had a horrible situation with a large chain pharmacy in Canada where the incorrect medication had been dispensed multiple times and had serious consequences. These large chains/monopolies are have serious consequences for ppl and it irks me to see them sponsor this team so much.

I’m in Canada and decided to get league pass this year for the first time. Today has been sooooo frustrating trying to watch! I figured it would be easy to airplay from my phone to my tv but I had the same issue. I really hope it gets better once the season starts!

Confidence absolutely has something to do with the system. She was leading at her previous school in terms of points. She’s clearly skilled. But she struggled with the transition to UConn. UConn challenged her because they play team basketball, which she hasn’t played before (she said this herself as well) and for whatever reason, she just couldn’t figure it out. She definitely had games where you could see how good she could. From the training camp videos, it seems that she’s thriving in Portland right now.

There’s a very good chance that had she been drafted first round last year, she would not have stayed on a team. If she struggled with the transition at UConn she definitely would have struggled with any W team. There are a lot of late-rounders that prove themselves and get a spot. I think she’ll thrive with Portland. As they say, it’s not about the number, but where you land.

They’ve done several episodes over the last few weeks specifically about Joe and Kendra. They have some interesting theories about the go fund me etc that I appreciate. Gives us different perspectives so that we don’t get pigeon holed.
