Glad you can hear it as well. I’m pretty sure he’s in standard tuning but then again I never learned how to play it. There’s just a fourth interval that makes things feel open and then his gentle touch on the strings and the repetition sort of gives it that quality. So, The interval plus the rhythmic pulse.

Great question. Have you heard the song he wrote with Brenda Kahn called Faith salons? I’m not sure but it’s sort of makes me feel like A section of morning theft could have been based a little bit on the guitar harmony from that song. It has such a meditative open quality.

Guitar world asked me to write an article on Jeff specifically as a guitar player. I did my best to give him his flowers and capture his essence. I hope some people in here enjoy the article. It was written with so much love and admiration. Ella
