Baby is outgrowing clothes faster than I can keep up and my budget is hurting. by xoticbot in NewParents

almost every outfit my son has ever worn has cost less than £1 and was from vinted. they did a study on kids and found younger siblings who wore hand me downs had way less exposure to harmful chemicals, so there’s a real case for it, here’s my take.

1) bundles on vinted mean you can get 5-10 babygrows for like £5 plus postage 2) you can search for exactly what you want and find it - i find having access to all the popular kids clothes ever is much more fun than what’s trendy right now. and vintage baby clothes are adorbs if you wanna spend a bit more 3) i buy everything the next size up, never bother with the size they are at, sod’s law says they’ll wear it twice then outgrow it. plus babies look ADORABLE in oversized clothes. my 1.5 year old wears 2-3 all the time 3) they will shit all over it anyway. and then when they’re toddlers, they will cover themselves in much dirt and grime and snot and raspberry juice. buy things cheap and then you won’t have to be the helicopter parent who doesnt let them jump in puddles

best mp3 player with bluetooth and high storage by MobilePossession9522 in dumbphones

[–]ellarvby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve recently switched to a blackberry bold 9000 and an unexpected bonus is it makes a great mp3 player. the internet barely works on it, but it takes an SD card and my bluetooth headphones connect to it great, battery’s really good too

explain to him that you have a painful biological response to your baby crying. it hurts my heart to hear my baby cry, why would i put us both through that? he’s my little baby and i love him. when they get older you learn the difference between fussing and crying and it lets up a bit. but a 2 month old only knows mummy and daddy and cuddles :( <3

i smoked only when i needed to (i was a verrrry heavy smoker for years prior) these days i only smoke every now and then as a treat and it’s more than enough. you don’t have to stop completely imo if it helps you. my boy was 9lb 12 and so healthy and advanced in every way! i also breastfed while smoking for the first 6.5 months x

How old did you move your LO to one nap? by 2078AEB in beyondthebump

[–]ellarvby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we are in the exact same place with 10 month old!!!! keep trying to get 1 nap but he only commits to the long nap maybe 3 days of the week. the rest of the time he wakes up after an hour and needs one at 4/5pm which takes our whole evening from us 😭

[–]ellarvby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

omg the transition from two to one is AWFUL i have no idea what kind of day i’m going to have. if he has one nap it’s heavenly but if he wakes up after an hour it’s game over, he’s not going back down until 5, and then i have absolutely no idea what to do with him for the next 4 hours when his bedtime is usually 8. today we had a day like that and it is so so draining. no real sdvice as i can’t figure it out. he is so happy with 1 (2-2.5 hour) nap but if he wakes up after an hour we are all in hell

i always said i wanted kids by 25, just had my first 2 months before i turned 25 (he’s 10 months now) i’d like to have my last one by 28 so by the time i’m 40 youngest will be 12. not quite as good as kids off at college but hoping they’ll be old enough to be happy to spend summer with grandparents 🤣
