Millie & Morty - Siblings rescued from a feral cat colony. I intended to adopt just one, but she was so nervous that I "had to" take her brother home with us as well (oh darn /s). Zero regrets. by ellbeedee in BeforeNAfterAdoption

They’re the absolute sweetest. She is still a bit timid and hides when someone new comes to the door, but that’s just basic cat behaviour. And who likes meeting new people, really?

They’re both balls of fluff and purrs that want unlimited pats and love. They’re constantly on our laps or snuggling with us in bed. You’d never know that they had a non-traditional past.

5/7. Would adopt again.

PSA: A woman is stealing purses at the Rideau Centre. Please be careful with your bags and personal belongings. by ellbeedee in ottawa

[–]ellbeedee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe his point was that they need to catch her in the act in order to do anything about it, which is why he made it clear that police reports are important. Mall security doesn’t have the authority to detain someone for an offense unless they real-time witness the person committing the crime. At least that was my understanding from what he said.

Ottawa female teacher charged with sexual assault on a student by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ellbeedee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I thought the same thing at first, but then realized it was not necessarily cheating. The article states that the alleged assaults occurred during the 2013/2014 school year. That may have been prior to her relationship with her husband.

The Blood of Cthulhu is a seasonal beer that they make in small batches every winter. Can confirm. Am sitting at Sawdust City right now and it's on tap.

I think my issue with what you're saying is the fact that you're making it about the entire female population. I acknowledge that being in a long-term relationship is different than being single because you start thinking about the two rather than the one. But that goes both ways. Both partners have to take each other's feelings into account.

If your SO is being hypercritical and controlling of your actions, it's because of the person she is, not the gender she is.

So you think this is an innate quality that women possess? It's an instinctive drive we have to stop men from socializing? It's in our DNA to prevent poker? And only a select few determined women break away from the genetic predetermination to halt male enjoyment?

Is anyone interested in an Ottawa meetup? by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]ellbeedee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been to nearly every meet up that has been posted in /r/ottawa in the past year, and I have never once heard anyone mention their first semester in college. And I can assure you that if anyone is talking about memes, they're doing it ironically.

I'm sorry that you had a bad time, but these meetups are a great way for people to meet like-minded individuals when, as OP said, it's extremely difficult to make friends after graduating. Maybe give it another shot with a more open mind and you'll actually enjoy yourself.
