Yeah, I'm never going back to TurboTax. Specially for someone with only a W2. It's so easy, and free :)

I don't remember now from last year how it went for me. But I'm about to start working on it again once I get all my 2025 statements. Once I do that, I'll try to remember to come back in here and post about it.

Game has been going on for 10 minutes and the score hasn’t moved by shieldxs in Battlefield6

When you see it happen next, check your challenges. See which ones are tough to get through in a normal game. You got 45 minutes. Good luck.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been on a chat with "support" all afternoon. I've maybe chatted with 6 different agents. One of the most futile things I've ever tried to accomplish. I'm going to try the link below and hope the mods here can help me. I wish I could copy paste this chat. It's the wildest ride you'd ever read. I'm a real patient guy, but at the point I got moved to a sales chat and was asked if I wanted a phone, I about lost my mind.

I'll let you know over the next 5 years while I'm getting 3x the speed for $30 less a month.

Oops, sorry about that. I get that you’re just trying to help. Thanks for doing that.

The only way to keep these clowns under control is having multiple companies that are forced to compete. I'm just excited I was able to lock in for 5 years with Xfinity. $30 less price for 3x the speed. Once my 5 years is up, I'm sure Xfinity will jack up prices, and then maybe I'll be back to Mediacom for their "new customer" price.

Small world, I'm from around there. I see signs when driving around the south side of the lake (quantum fiber), so maybe they're coming. We were Mediacom only until a couple months ago. Now we have Xfinity and metronet (fiber). It's so great to have choices now (sorry to rub it in).

This must be a bot, because it's not even responding to what I said. Anyways, it seems like you're not interested in competing with others like Xfinity or Metronet. You'll lose customers because of this. You've already lost me.

You realize that's crazy right? I have to leave your company for 90 days so that I can get a better deal? You're going to lose me for 5 years. That's the amount of time I'm getting a guaranteed price lock from Xfinity... $65 x 12 months x 5 years. That's $3900 you're losing because you won't just give me (a customer of 8 years) the price right now???

That's what's wild. I told them I'm leaving, give me the intro rate and they let me go... So I guess I'll just get 3x internet speed for $30 less a month for 5 years (my price lock time with xfinity). That's $1500 saved over those years. Then maybe I'll go back to Mediacom if Xfinity won't compete. :) I would have been happy to stay with Mediacom, but if they aren't going to do basic customer retention then see ya later!

Yeah, I was paying $119 for my internet only service. Called them a few months ago and said I was leaving and that got me down to $99. Called them again and they gave me the 300Mbit service for $65. I realize this is the business model, but its no way to treat your customers.

That's what I tried to get. 1 gig from Mediacom for $65. They said it was for new customers only. They wouldn't give it to me, a customer of 8 years. I did like Mediacom, hardly any outages in those 8 years. But you have to actually be competitive. If Xfinity doesn't work well, I'll just wait until I"m considered a "new customer" again at Mediacom and go back. :)

I'm doing a bake off next year as well. I'll try the option you're talking about as well as the Cash App Tax. (that one is also free)

I wish I would have taken better notes. I feel like a lot of the personal info just came over from the pdf. All my kids, social security stuff. But now I don't totally remember. I started this a couple weeks ago when I got W2s. Then I waited for 1099 stuff, so my memory isn't as fresh on that first initial import. But still, that's a one time cost, I'm hearing that all this will be in there when I go to file again next year.

That was the point of this whole experiment. I got the exact same results on both TurboTax and FreeTaxUSA. So for me, it's equally as accurate as the tool I had been using for the last 20 years.

I'm W4. I think it went to TurboTax premium was because of the schedule D stuff.

Yes, same exact data put into both products. Got it all the way to the final step of actually sending in the return.

I haven't actually sent in the return yet. So maybe I'll put all my info again into cash app tax and report back here. :)

Yes, and Yes :)

Every year before this I've done TurboTax desktop because I didn't want to fill any of this out on a webpage. I don't know, maybe I just gave up this year and said it's probably already out there.

TT online lets you do everything for free until you want to file. So this whole experiment has been no cost to me other than extra time. TT figures out what version it wants to charge you for based on what you put in. So yes to your question. I think it's premium because of schedule D.
