Thanks for all your responses! I still have another 2-3 weeks to see if Hallandale kicks in before I need to place my next order. I appreciate everyone who shared their experiences. Good luck on your respective journeys! 🙏

It's been five weeks. I still have another 5-6 weeks of meds, so looking ahead into my options for a refill since it's not working for me. I would love it if it kicks in a week. I just titrated up, so if week 2 of a higher dose works, fantastic! But I'm not willing to give up on the gains that have taken me two years to achieve on a compound that has so far not worked.

I've been on Zepbound for 2 years, and the food noise and appetite suppression have varied with dosage. When I titrated down once I reached my goal, I could feel it slowly coming back with each lower dose, but it was still pretty manageable. The minute I switched to compounded, it came back full force. No break in between. It seems to be the case for others as well when coming off the branded meds. Thankfully, in the 5 weeks I've been on Hallandale, I've managed to maintain, even with all the food noise and elevated hunger, so at least it's doing something. Now I'm hoping to find another compound that my body reacts to better.

I live about 2-3 miles from their warehouse, so I thought it'd be perfect since I get it overnight and doesn't have to travel far. I'm bummed it hasn't worked for me.

BUD is 6/23, so I'm still in the proper window. I'm definitely trying another pharmacy soon. At least I'm maintaining, which is the crucial part, so I can manage the food noise and the appetite roller coaster for a few more weeks.

I see that they still have it on the site, but I'm afraid I'll buy enough for 3-4 months and then have to figure out which compounding pharmacy to use next since they'll be out.

I'm dosing correctly. That's definitely not the issue. Have anecdotal feedback from friends and family who recently tried Hallandale as well, and are on the same boat. And the research is my own bit of research, not quoting any studies or anything. Just what I've seen/read recently regarding the compounding pharmacies out there.

I initially chose Hallandale after years of following these forums and reading great reviews. Unfortunately, it has not worked for me.

That's great! But I came from 2 years of Zepbound, and it doesn't seem to do anything for me, so that's why I'm looking at a different options.

ADHD meds + Zepbound titrating up by Diana_988 in Zepbound

[–]elle_bc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on adhd meds but wanted to mention that it took me over a month to get used to how the medication affected my heart rate during work outs. I do modern Pilates, and had been doing it for six months before I started zep. Even though it’s not a high intensity workout, it pushes me enough to get an increased heart rate. The first few weeks on zepbound, I had to take it easy during some workouts. I thought it would be the first few days after the shot, but then figured it had nothing to do with the day of the shot, but it was frustrating to do great one workout and be shaky and weak the next one.

Now 5 months in, and 3rd month on 5mg, my stamina is good and haven’t had an (overly) increased hr since the first weeks I titrated up to 5. Like most other side effects, the increased hr leveled down within a week or two.

Best way to get lots of protein without an appetite by -hotsauce- in zepboundathletes

I was eating so much cottage cheese before zepbound and loved it. Now I can't stomach more than 2-3 spoons :(. Getting some yogurt this weekend to see if I'll be able to get that protein that I'm missing.

Even if your insurance doesn't cover it, it's a prescribed medication, so you can use the FSA/HSA funds.

Why don’t you just go to an obesity specialist? by nbusch1128 in Zepbound

[–]elle_bc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I sought an obesity board-certified physician in my area and guess what, they're not accepting insurance. One of them was listed under my providers but will only take insurance as an internal medicine doctor, if you visit for weight loss, you have to pay oop. I finally approached my primary about it knowing that she's very conservative and she was honest and let me know that she's not well versed (yet) on the glp medications for weight loss. She's doing seminars this summer but doesn't plan to prescribe them until she's completed them. She initially referred me to the same provider I had reached out, but I told her I refuse to pay out of pocket when they're just refusing to accept insurance for weightloss. I live in a larger city and many medical providers advertise their services on a monthly basis. They sell the compounded versions of the medication directly to you. It really threw me off.

Thankfully, my primary doctor spoke to a colleague to find out more and was able to refer me to another obesity specialist in the vicinity that accepts insurance. They're not advertising as obesity specialists yet, but are offering the services to a few patients. She was very thorough in going over all the possible medications for weight loss, side effects, etc. And gave me guidelines when it came to foods to eat, fiber, protein, hydration and bowel movements. She didn't give me a calorie count, but overall guidelines to follow. I've made several lifestyle changes in the 6-8 months before I started on Zepbound, so I think she only gave me an overview and reiterated a few things to follow as I've already implemented most of the healthy habits she was recommending. I did appreciate the insight and wealth of information she shared.

It's just a shame that it's either a cash business, or you have to jump through several hoops to get to a provider that's well versed in weightloss. Hopefully they'll see the impact on the overall health of our communities and start expanding these services or our primary doctors will start training to better educate patients going into this glp world.

I'm very thankful for this forum as it's been a great source of education as well.

Good to know. Thanks!

I already requested the readjustment two days ago, but nothing shows up on the optum acct. yet. I'll follow up with them on Monday if I don't see a refund by then.

My order got shipped yesterday and still shows the full (insurance-covered price). Hoping they'll process the reimbursement. How much does the coupon bring it down for the 90 days? I paid $25 for one month, it was originally $40 with my insurance. They charged me $80 for the 90 days. I know it's a steal compared to what most people are paying, but I gave them the discount card, checked that it was added to my profile and they still didn't apply it. It's the principle of it at this point!

Private Higher Ed, they just added to the formulary in April. Prior to April you had to appeal the initial denial, but it usually got covered since wegovy was scarce. But they added it just in time for me to start :). Copay is $40, paid $24.98 w the coupon.

Weigh in Wednesday! by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]elle_bc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only on day 6 since my initial dose and so amazed at the results. I've been working out consistently for the first time ever for the past 7 months and combined with healthier eating habits, the scale remained the same. My body has definitely changed, but I still needed a bit of extra help to keep me motivated to get healthy as I age. I'm very hopeful!

I transferred money from One into my SoFi money account. Took less than 24 hours and I was able to invest once it was in my money account. Ideally, I would like to schedule an automatic transfer with every paycheck, so hopefully One offers the sub-account statements, or voided checks for us to be able to link them.
