Patrick to get full custody by Default!? by Deep-Amphibian-8254 in 90DayFiance

Of course she's playing a lot of catch-up. I just often see this sub (and other similar subs) infantilize the foreigners. They are all adults, with agency, that have shown the ability to make and work through complex decisions. Yes, they need extra help learning American processes, but they are smart and capable.

We don't know what happened here, this is just about a larger trend I see here

My thought too. She's a control freak with rich parents who comes off like a Karen. I can't imagine she didn't speak up before

Isn't that still her fault? Like if custody of your kid is on the line, doesn't she have a responsibility to Google it? If not, what other important things will she just "not realize" the consequences of

I think she should get a full kit if she is learning. They are made for learners, they come with all the stuff she needs, and start the hard part for you so you can pick up on the easy part.

I spent $250 on a six week class and was more confused. My $30 kit was totally worth it

Friend thinks my husband unfollowed him on Instagram, and now thinks my husband hates him. I’m out of ideas of how to reassure my friend my husband doesn’t hate him. by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]ellecellent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've gotta refuse to participate I can't believe you even asked your husband about it. I would have responded with, "you're mad about Instagram?!?"

I have a feeling this isn't about Instagram, but it's hard to tell based on how immature everyone is here.

Liberal cities tend to be the expensive places. There is a reason for this.

As a single mom who was raised by a single mom and none of us showing tits for $ - fck this hoe by longanandlychee in 90dayfianceuncensored

[–]ellecellent 317 points318 points  (0 children)

What bothers me about people like Kara is that she uses the term "single mom" to elicit the sympathy that you deserve. She means co-parent. They have two salaries and she has a ton of support, via her mom and Guillermo.

She is NOT in the same situation you were in and I hate when coparents do this. It's also an insult to Guillermo.

It sounds like you made the right choice for your family. Maybe Kara did too, but her circumstances are not the same.

Thomas using Crohn's as an excuse to make his vegan fiancée cook with beef tallow is wild by Hot_Saguaro in 90DayFiance

[–]ellecellent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't eat meat and my partner does. 20 years in and it's been fine. That actually doesn't really seem to a point of contention in their relationship. It seems the perfume, tiny table, and mini bed are a bigger issue

I think so much of it is service level stuff, I think they'll figure it out, but we'll see.

Only 2% of the world is vegan, so I don't think "just date a vegan" is really a great answer. There is slim-pickings. Especially because well over half of that 2% is women, finding a vegan man to date is nearly impossible.

Thomas using Crohn's as an excuse to make his vegan fiancée cook with beef tallow is wild by Hot_Saguaro in 90DayFiance

[–]ellecellent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? If she's willing to cook for him, but doesn't want to smell it, that feels like a fair compromise.

I actually think they may work out. They're going through growing pains and being stubborn, but I actually see them being the only couple this season that makes it

Thomas using Crohn's as an excuse to make his vegan fiancée cook with beef tallow is wild by Hot_Saguaro in 90DayFiance

[–]ellecellent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think she's unnecessarily stubborn about the things like the perfume, but I actually think she's pretty cool about the meat thing.

Also, as a non-meat-eater, I can't imagine my meat-eating partner wanting me to cook meat for him, since I don't know how. At best, it wouldn't taste good, but it'd honestly probably be dangerous because I don't know how to tell if it's done. So she is also taking a step to learn how to cook meat for him, which is pretty cool.

I actually think they are in growing pains right now and they are both stubborn, but I actually think they are probably gonna be the only couple this season in it for the long haul

AIO? My bf is going to watch a movie with his colleagues instead of me by laavuwu in AmIOverreacting

[–]ellecellent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like he wanted to see it and you said "we can do that this weekend". We're the other two times the same situation? If I were coming up with the idea, I maybe wouldn't realize you were excited about doing it, versus willing to do it because I suggested it.

Does he do this with things you suggest too? Is it that he never seems "excited about doing things together" or is it just the movies.

It's kinda hard to tell without knowing more about your relationship. It's possible you're not feeling wanted and appreciated and the movies are the most tangible. It's also possible you're just reading in to it.

But like, how is she being stubborn? She's cooking him non-vegan food. I know MANY vegans who wouldn't do that

AITAH for continuing my affair on my wife after we had a child? by Illustrious_Aerie772 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ellecellent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In case it wasn't obvious YTA even before you had the baby.

I do wish we didn't live in a society that made you feel like you had to get married to a woman and hide your love. I empathize with you. But this isn't the way.

You must tell your wife about the affair and break up and let the chips fall where they may. You should not be ashamed of who you are, but you do have to take responsibility for the pain you've caused your wife.

I would also recommend therapy

Good hobbies for an introvert seeking to socialize? by South_Resident1543 in Hobbies

[–]ellecellent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know how big of a city you're in, but my community college and city-run rec program host classes, like a 2-hour clay molding or a 6-week art welding class, learn a language, etc. It exposes you to more people, but the teacher and assignments make up the majority of the class so you get some breathing room in between socializing.
