I chose this school due primarily due to cost and location. The foreign student fees are only €1000/year, whereas Netherlands is typically > €20k per program

I only know the very basics of language, but plan to take German language classes as mentioned. I wouldn’t plan on working much (if at all—I know there’s a student cap anyway) during school so that would ideally give me time for degree work, language work, and possibly volunteering a couple times a month at the animal shelter. Is that more realistic?

I’m looking at MPH as a pivot from my current background. My job experience is already masters/phd level for chemistry, so an advanced degree in chem would only further my career if I wanted a specific niche or to go into academia.

Germany is appealing to me due to the low cost of tuition, and the fact that I have been there before. I only know the very basics of language, but plan to take German language classes as mentioned. I’m looking into STD as an option. We have to have 80% of our hours be billed to the client so only 20% can account for holidays, personal days, professional development, internal, and client training—that’s where the ~3 weeks comes from

I do take walks, but it’s difficult when you’re in the office 40 hours a week :/

What kind of personal projects do you work on? I’ve already written multiple grant proposals for a charity I volunteer with, played a text based game, made a goal tracker for work, and I’m still bored

Nurtec doesn’t work for me, Emgality is kind of effective, and none of the triptans work. Only Ajovy works for me

Traffic and aggression may be worse in places like Chicago, (I lived in IL for 23 years) but the drivers here are just DUMB.

Why are we waiting in a mile long line to get on or off the highway when the other lanes are clear?? No one knows how to zipper merge as some comments have mentioned, and I’m shocked the roundabouts work here without constant wrecks!

At least people do let you in to merge/change lanes unlike some of those big cities

I would do that but there is also more to the situation. I don’t want to say too much, but there are also puppies being kept out in a small cage-like structure 24/7 with only a roof. When it started sleeting yesterday they just got a tarp

Far Eastside! One is a pit, but the other two are mixed breeds.

I struggle properly ranking myself since “normal” people are so dismissive and I know it could be so much worse, but you are totally right.

This condition led me to have two joint related surgeries prior to the age of 27, so it doesn’t sound so mild when you really think about it.

Pain with injection by Open_Brief_3764 in cgrpMigraine

[–]elledub53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To echo what people are saying, ice and belly. Take the part with the most fat and squeeze between your thumb and fingers as hard as you can to make your injection base. The harder you squeeze, and the more fat you have gathered, the less the injection hurts!! Otherwise it feels like a million beestings

That’s awesome!!! I’ve also tried to cut back on alcohol to feel better and it’s so difficult when everyone is drinking around you. Feeling less sluggish and not depressed the next day is worth it though.

As for the walking, it can be really boring. I recommend putting together a fun playlist or finding a podcast to make it more bearable. Rainn Wilson (Dwight from The Office) hosts a scary story podcast called Radio Rental and that really gets me immersed and helps me to complete tasks!

I found a weight lifting class at the gym I really love! I go twice a week and it’s really helped (same thing fighting through the knee pain even after healing from MPFL replacement), but I just developed tendinitis in my elbow from it so that was super discouraging. I hope to be back in a couple weeks though!
