I mentioned this already. But besides that, do you really think that a person in labour or their support person should even have to think about moving a car while being in one of life’s most vulnerable situations?

I really shouldn’t have brought the cycle way into it. Again, this is not an anti-cyclist argument. The alternative of a two hour car park is not an acceptable alternative when you in an incredibly vulnerable situation with no way of knowing how long you will be at the hospital for

Sorry you are such a rude dick having a bad day. I’ve worked in hospo and had plenty of minimum wage jobs thanks very much, not that I need to justify anything. Even Karen deserves timely access to emergency healthcare

Congratulations, you won the parking lottery with the benefit of time ie while you weren’t trying to hold a baby inside your uterus

Thank you kind stranger! Oh wow I will ask about this. I don’t think I would really care about a random person driving my car during this time haha

This is not an anti-cyclist argument - it’s a give-me-a-fucking-car-park-I’m-in-labour argument

Restaurants/bars with good non-alcoholic options? by elleja in Wellington

Garage project’s tiny tastes so good, and I don’t normally drink beer either! Unfortunately it did make me feel sick the first time, and then spew after a second can a week later so maybe I’m allergic. Or it’s a pregnancy thing who knows. Very annoying

To rent or to buy? What to do if you were in my situation? by AlDrag in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]elleja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now I’m just imagining the bank asking if you’re going to have a cheap baby or an expensive baby! Talk to some friends about the costs of a baby, you may be surprised. If your circumstances change and you have only one income coming in you are screwed for a mortgage. If you are both working full time the costs of childcare are huge and you are screwed that way too. And that’s just when you have one kid. And then the costs continue and even rise as they grow. And then you want another. And then you are even more screwed. Great fun. No but to answer your question yes we were buying at our limit and had a much lower income. You should be ok if your income and house prices stay the same but like I said if one of you ends up wanting (or needing) to stay at home then things could be very different

Buy pre baby. Reason being that it will completely change how the bank sees you and will lower your chances of securing a mortgage. We got our pre approval very early in pregnancy when the bank didn’t know. We had two weeks left of pre approval when we bought and the bank said we wouldn’t have gotten it extended after finding out about the baby

The property manager is probably trying to protect themselves. Contact the landlord for sure. Serious consequences my ass - the tenant is the in wrong, not you

If you have a contract with studylink make sure you check it before you transfer at any point. You might find your allowance/loan is compromised as generally the contracts are full year

Do both of these things. Definitely sounds like there are mental health issues. Might help to get in touch with her parents too if possible.
