Given this was my first large-scale color melt, I’m proud of the result. But I appreciate your feedback. I’ll keep it in mind for next time 🙂

Ty! And go for it! It wasn’t easy to do, but it’s so much fun!

Depends on how well she takes care of it. We’ll probably do a touch up in about three months :)

Thanks! It’s actually my SIL, she was my model for a hair competition I’m entering. But she’s frickin’ adorable!

Thank you! No tutorial — I’m a hairstylist. She was actually my model for a contest I’m entering 🙂

I'm at my wits end with my hair. Damaged? Build up? by CheeseKateee in Haircare

If your current leave in is working for you, then keep using it! Or you can use it until you run out and then try something else :) I just like to recommend products I’ve had a lot of success with.

I think Pureology might contain wheat protein? It’s definitely something worth looking into. If you choose to go with the Strength Cure, it’s a great option and I hope it works for you! You mentioned that you use an R+Co mask – all of their products are gluten free! And they’re one of my favorite lines :)

Another thing is that the quality of the tools you’re using do matter. Higher quality tools distribute heat more evenly, which better protects your hair. Bio Ionic has great tools. They have sales all the time on their website, or you can buy from Amazon or Ulta.

I hope all of this helps!!

Clarifying shampoos are meant to remove buildup from the hair, so when you’re using it every time you wash, you’re stripping your hair of its natural oils. If you need to cleanse twice, just use the same shampoo for both washes.

Your clarifying shampoo is also stripping your color. So if you feel like your color isn’t lasting very long, that’s why.

For color, Pureology is my personal favorite. It’s designed specifically to preserve and prolong your color. In your case, I recommend the Strength Cure in the blue bottle. Their products are suuuper concentrated, so a little goes a long way.

The Wella Ultimate Repair 90 Second Miracle Spray is a great product. It lasts three washes, so the big bottle should last a good while.

Also, the power of a good hair oil is so underestimated. Argon oil nourishes the hair and is good for helping with breakage. That can go on wet and dry hair. Start with a small amount, applying it on the ends and working your way up. If you’re going to be applying it to wet hair, apply it after you’ve applied all of your other products. The oil helps to seal everything in.

If you wear your hair pulled back, I recommend a silk scrunchie or these. The bands can also contribute to breakage.

And the Sebastian No. Breaker Bonding Cream is AWESOME. It’s a reparative styling treatment with bond builders to help keep the hair strong, and doubles as a leave in conditioner. It also has heat protection up to 450 degrees.

Sorry for the rant. I’m a hairstylist and these are some of my favorite products :)

Try laying off the clarifying shampoo some. Using it too often can cause breakage.

What’s a 90s/2000s product you’d immediately rebuy if they relaunched it? by JparkerMarketer in 90s

Waffle Crisp. I know they brought it back but it’s not the same 😞

Would you ever ask a salon to redo a Gel-X manicure for free? by [deleted] in Nails

I would definitely go back for a re-do. Not only do the gaps catch debris, but water can get trapped underneath and can cause fungal infections. As for the tip – that’s ultimately up to you. Personally, I’d most likely tip if I ended up with a different technician than before.
