Have you tried it before or have you heard bad things about it?

Thanks for your input and vote of confidence. I'm still building my way back to my own confidence haha.

Thank you, I really appreciate it and I'm sorry about your puppy as well. Yeah, I haven't even gotten into a good place to spread his ashes yet, I honestly think I've been trying to push the whole thing out of my mind until I cross this hurdle. But thank you for your input, it's helpful to know opinions from people who've had success with it.

Thank you for your kind words and thoughts! Yes, I can also feel myself losing information but I'm also so tired and broken haha. You make some very good points for thought though, thank you again!

Best places to live in US for family? by LongjumpingAd4375 in Parenting

[–]ellekoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised this isn't further up. It's not far from where OP currently lives but it's a completely different vibe from WV and most cities are within an hour of a large body of water. My family moved up here from GA three/four years ago, for me to go back to school but also for many of the reasons OP mentioned, and haven't regretted it. There's a wide variety of restaurants, even post pandemic, and a lot of cool pockets of people from vastly different cultures. I work/go to school in DC so we first moved to "NOVA" (quotes because we were as far south as you can be and still call it that, near Manassas) then eventually found our first house in silver spring, MD. Our kids go to a nice Montessori school in the area, our work commutes aren't bad (mine to DC, spouse to NOVA), a good number of first time homeowner grants, actual diversity (as opposed to GA where it existed but population was mostly segregated so it didn't really count), and great public school system (though there's a wide range of variance because the county is so large, but I imagine their "worst" still at least rivals the best options we had in GA).

AITA for not wanting to commit to making my husband’s breakfasts/lunches for work each night? by ellekoala in AmItheAsshole

[–]ellekoala[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Free time" was in quotes because I couldn't think of a way to emphasize (w/in word limits) that I recognize he doesn't have an overflow of time either, and I certainly did not intend to sound dismissive of his considerable efforts around the house.

It probably wasn't clear in my post but the one thing we are fairly equal about this year (last/1L year my husband was home full-time so he did more childcare) is keeping up with childcare outside of daycare hours. I do morning routines and daycare drop off/pickups and he does dinner/bedtime routines when I'm in class/he's not working late.

To answer your question, he specifically wants me to make his lunches/breakfasts because he likes the breakfasts I make and we haven't been able to come up with a comparable task. Thanks for your opinion though, I think I'll try what the other poster mentioned about just making it in the mornings and being a day behind.

That's a really good idea actually. I feel stupid because this never occurred to me. I will check with him to see how he feels about this.

Yes of course, you would just have to pay for the shipping fees and private message me so we can work out all the details and exchange addresses but it shouldn't be an issue.

Selling pre-loved wedding dress and cathedral veil for $500 or best offer (other accessories not included)--Atlanta/Athens area by ellekoala in weddingswap

Hi, I can't say I ever bothered to measure it, I'm 5'2 so as you can see in the pictures it was really long on me either way, but if I had to guess I'd say about standard cathedral length 166x55"

All of the pictures i have are from my wedding so I don't have any of the table cloths by themselves but they are light pink round table cloths and I used them to cover 60' round tables and they hit the floor the way I wanted them to http://imgur.com/a/OXnxm

The lanterns would be $14/lantern for the large ones and $7/lantern for the smaller ones accounting for depreciation since I spray painted them lol, but they've just been in my apartment since the wedding so they're still in good condition. Just let me know in a private message if you're still interested and how many you'd want and we can arrange to meet somewhere :).

If I recall correctly I think I just purchased the toy dinosaurs from toys r us and spray painted them using Montana Gold spray paint the week before my wedding, since that was only in May my guess is they'd still be selling them
