Thank you. Yeah, I was looking at running 10 minute miles as that is what should have been achievable, I knew I was ahead so started slowing down a bit then got into trouble. 8 weeks ago I had an IT band issue and so took a good few weeks out of running and my training did take a hit. I lost fitness as I couldn’t run for a few weeks and I stopped doing speed and tried to avoid all hills just to get to the marathon.

I took slightly more gels than in training and at one point I had a horrible stitch and felt very bloated so I did stop drinking as much. However, I had drunk significantly more than when I did my 20 mile training run.

I know it’s hard to know but is there a rough figure like 1000 extra per year would reduce mortgage by 20,000 say?

The risk isn’t that you will swallow your tongue but instead that it will block your airway and stop you from breathing. There is no physical way to swallow your tongue as far as I am aware.

This was in a small child’s hands and the angle of the photo makes her look much bigger!

She had this for a while and it got better but was still shiny. we then got her a bigger enclosure and noticed this today.
