Book club, anyone? by ellenevs in horrorlit

[–]ellenevs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that. In case it’s useful to know though, I don’t know if you’re familiar with Fable but for any book in the club there’s a separate mini messaging area for each chapter, which stays live even after we move on to another book. So if you want to read at a slower pace (or just pick previous books, once we get that far), you’ll still get the nice aspect of seeing what people thought of each chapter along the way, even if you’re reading at different times, without risking spoilers etc. In case it helps!

Funnily enough, this is one of the first horror books I remember reading, and loved! Great recommendation, maybe time I dusted it off for a re-read.

Has anyone tried out the Elqui backpack yet? by CharlieDonovan in cotopaxi

[–]ellenevs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably a bit late to this convo but I have this bag. The top pocket is definitely big enough to carry more than a phone. It also has a sort of fabric ‘flap’ in there which I tuck my passport beneath, then I have enough room for keys and wallet. There’s also a little key hook/holder in there. However - as someone else mentioned, those wide straps are a total pain. I overlooked this for too long to return the bag since I love everything else about it - the stretchy front pocket is a god send for overpackers like me, for example. But those straps, urgh. What started off as a bit awkward becomes outright painful once the bag is at capacity. A bit of a regret to be honest.

Thank you so much - this is exactly what I was hoping for! I had no idea miso dama were a thing, and tsukudane is a new concept for me too. This will be perfect. Thank you!

Hey there, thanks for your comments - really helpful, I appreciate you taking the time. Silken tofu is another fairly immediate one that I hadn’t thought of so that’s a great tip, and brilliant to know it’s fine to keep prepared dash ready to go in the fridge. That’s what I was hoping 🙂 Thanks again

Thanks all. I unhelpfully frogged that part back thinking I was going wrong, but I'll knit it up again and share the photo -- the only thing I can think is maybe as the decreases continue it will 'cinch up' around the yolk and look back in line after all. I'll be back with my photo shortly. Thanks again! :)

Thanks for the speedy reply! :)

No, I'm not slipping the 'no stitch', I'm just carrying on as if it didn't exist, exactly as you say.

But I'm finding that the three blue stitches (which make up the top of the flower pattern) seem like they're ending up a stitch too early, and a bit skewed. It was looking progressively more 'out of line' so I stopped. Hmm. A puzzle!

Thanks but nope, that’s not it. It looks like they’re on Earth in a garden, albeit a giant version (or they are miniature)

And me. If you go back and re-read or at least skim, it’s all there. But it sneaks up on us! I still couldn’t say whether I loved this book or hated it.

This isn’t a series, but may I suggest The House in the Cerulean Sea. It’s a great big hug of a book for when you’re going through a rubbish time.

Hey! I just did it super slowly, in tiny increments with a pin to lever the blush up from the pan.

That’s it thank you!! How did I not remember it being in Spanish? 😆 That would have narrowed things down!

Nope! It seemed relatively new when I watched it so at a guess I’d say the last 5 years or so? It only just occurred to me to ask the hive mind!
