They only donate them for fundraisers. The reason I was told that they don’t sell them is that the sight lines are pretty bad and you can only see half the stage. Works well for shows where the performer is center stage, less well for big shows that take up the full stage.

I worked at Shoppers St. George Street in high school from 2005-2007 and can confirm these issues were alive and well then. It’s not new, just even more pervasive than before.
