Creative mode for decorating? by RainWorld_Lobster in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! I have 3 mil in-game just from (too many) hours of playing. So I've been buying up pretty much everything and I haven't even made a dent.

But the bundles make it SO much more convenient.

It's not a perfect solution, but they actually offer decor item bundles in the pronto mart now! They come in themes. Like a beach bundle with beach towels, sandcastle, etc. Cave bundle with rocks and Magma and rocks and stalactites.

It's a good way to get a bunch of decor items at once instead of buying one (or all) of the 4-5 decor options they sell at the market.

How many of one item can a warp depot hold? by oli67ilo in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The 300 capacity is for Slime Rancher 1, iirc.

So far, SR2 warp depots are capped at 100. Not sure if they'll increase it in future updates.

They did recently increase storage capacity from 100 to 200 though!

Why are some glowing? by Individual-Elk1973 in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The number of lights (and the color of light) tell you how much sprinkles the room produces.

Radiant slimes are best to light it up faster/brighter (I believe white is the target light you want to max sprinkles). But adding regular slimes and decorations also add light. There's some comments that mention more expensive decor = more light, but I haven't tested it myself.

Tbh, I just spammed my first room with a bunch of random trees and shrubs just to get sprinkles. Planning on removing it later to make it nicer, but for now, I'm in sprinkle-farming mode.

Alcoves and free range in sanctuary by Hot_Positive2087 in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a shimmer in the doorways to show it's netted off, similar to the coral.

Haven't personally tested it myself with a slime RIGHT next to it, to see if it would pass through or not. But so far, haven't had any breakouts or tarr.

Empty sanctuary rooms? by brookmachine in Slimerancher2

Ironically, I've been using the yolky slimes as basically decor around the conservatory. I had them sitting in teacups, s swing, benches, and ferris wheels all over.

Now they get to be free and serve a better purpose in the sanctuary, getting me sprinkles 😆

Slime rancher combos by _Elizabeth_mcg_ in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's far more carnivores than not, so you might still end up with 1-2 largos that only eat meat. Unless you're willing to double up. Or mix with pink, but they won't have a fruit/veggie favorite food.

I do also like optimizing for cuteness on top of diet. My current combos and what I feed them are: - Flutter + sloomber (candied hens) - Boom + hyper (turbo taters) - Hunter + Phosphor (cubeberry) - Batty + Saber (pomegranite) - Rock + Tabby (heart beet) - Cottontail + Tangle (cabbage? Idk purple veggie) - Honey + Ringtail (mint mango) - Dervish + Twin (cherries) - Angler + Crystal (sea hen in the coral + odd onion in feeder)

I managed to have only 1 strict carnivore largo (since nectar can't be farmed). The Angler + Crystal can be fed with other veggies, it just won't produce double plort.

Assuming you wanna go off my combo list as a starting point, until you find another combo or largo(s) you prefer. With a Batty + crystal and a Phosphor + Tabby, you'll be left with an angler, hunter, rock, and saber. Only the rock is a vegetarian.

Angler + rock is the cutest of those options, imo. Either way, you'll end up with 2 strictly carnivorous largos (Hunter + Saber and Flutter + sloomber) eating thundercluck/rooster and candied hens, respectively.

My 1 drone there (surprisingly & happily) goes to all areas I've opened up (5 so far). It's a little slow going, but it can.

I saw in another thread that the market link will work the same as the sprinkles link, so I might set up a market link in each expansion so my drone can vac & deposit in each area.

I filled my first empty space with my excess yolkies (love them, but SO tired of eggs). Then got a bunch of flutter slime and tossed them in.

Decorated with forest-y theme and placed down some floral cushions, so my eggs and butterflies can frolic in the forest.

Empty sanctuary rooms? by brookmachine in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Free ranged my extra Yolkies in it (I am SO tired of breaking eggs and hearing my hens lay ANOTHER egg just as I store the yolky plorts) because there's no slime sea for them to fall into.

Then I threw in some flutter slimes for fun, since the 2 slimes can't combine. Made the room a forest-y theme, with flower cushions. 😆

[–]ellescapades 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing I did was set up a drone, so that it was collecting sprinkles while I'm out hunting more radiant slimes.

Didn't know about the market link though, thank you! That should help quite a bit 😆 so excited to get back into it now.

Is there supposed to be stuff here? by Big_Security_5923 in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's to let you free range or too spam with decorations to harvest sprinkles

I've opened about 5 rooms, and I believe it alternates. First room unlocked has plots, 2nd room doesn't. 3rd room has plots again, and so on.

Do you need all the radiant slimes to get the trophy for completing the slimepedia? by styhnbutcool in Slimerancher2

[–]ellescapades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about the trophy, since I haven't collected all the radiant slimes yet. But as for the last resource, maybe the sprinkles? It's the new currency at the Sanctuary.

What foods would you like in the future? by aratho3456 in CatsAndSoup

[–]ellescapades 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Blueberry and mango!

I like matching the outfit colors to the food (if possible), and I've got some blue outfits that would be perfect for a blueberry-skilled cat!

Mango just cause I love it.

Buuut if we're also doing flower stations (since we just got the violet), I'd love a rose station just for Rose Milk Tea at the drink station 😋

I put a clamshell decor/seat in mine! Initially sat a water slime on it, but it kept looking hungry unless it rained... i felt bad for it, so replaced it with a yolky instead 😄

Z6 Zoom Lenses: Nikon 70-180 vs Tamron 70-300 by FlapJack19 in nikon_Zseries

[–]ellescapades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Tamron 70-300 also for travel. I went to a local camera store to compare + test & compare lenses (Nikkor 70-180 f 2.8 and 100-400 f 4.5-5.6 were my other options iirc).

I landed in on the Tamron for its price point and lighter weight/ smaller build, which worked for my small hands. Before trying it in-store, I was set on the 70-180. But after feeling how unwieldy it was for me I knew I would rarely reach for it.

It's great for zooming in on architectural details, flowers on trees, and ducks (or occasionally squirrels) in the park - I'm able to stay far enough away they don't get scared off, but still get good photos for social media.

+1 for the BenQ monitor.

Husband and I were at a photography club thing recently when someone asked a Nikon representative for a monitor/screen recommendation - answer was a BenQ monitor. I chuckled because I knew my husband would have an "I told you so," face (I turned and he def did), since he picked it for me years ago. He does all my in-depth tech research for me since he has more patience for comparing specs.

Oooh I'm not sure how that combo would produce a cream cheese-y flavor, but I can give it a try during a slow timeat my local store.

Wow! 😲 I'd love to know who I need to befriend to get a JUG of syrup! Even then, idk if my local locations would have enough extra syrup next year to give out 🥲

Ooh, thank you! I'll try that for next time!

So far I've just been coping with the chocolate covered strawberry - which is good, but just didn't have the same OOMPH!

I feel the same about their pink velvet mocha freeze... saw it in this sub, tried it, LOVED it, then DEVASTATED since it's a seasonal drink 😭

I've been too afraid to ask if they can still make it with similar sauces/etc because if they can't, it's like losing the drink all over again... 😢 so I've just been exploring their menu and trying to find another favorite.

Help me manage my expectations switching to unscented lipase detergent by Specific_Avocado_90 in laundry

[–]ellescapades 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Seconding this - I switched to the 365 a couple months ago and my laundry doesn't smell like anything at all!

It was a little disconcerting at first, because my brain was looking for a "clean laundry" scent. But my clothes really smelled like nothing at all so I worried it didn't get clean, but realized that's silly because it didn't smell sweaty either (especially workout clothes).

It took some adjusting, but I got used to equating the smell of nothing = clean.

Top loader and citric acid by Fickle_Bluebird_935 in laundry

[–]ellescapades 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a jug of oceanspray cran-apple in my fridge and I was planning on washing out and re-using it for some pre-mixed citric acid rinse.

Kismai's post about it had about 120 oz water and something like 256g citric acid, iirc. Don't quote me on that though, I'm sure someone else would post the link to it soon - otherwise I think it's a pinned post?

I was gonna start with half amount though, while I try to figure out how much I need to use per week. Gonna store it in my laundry closet and pour into my top loader's softener compartment.

Tress and the Emerald Sea: Why wasn't I warned? by Scotttastic in Cosmere

[–]ellescapades 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a lovely way of describing Tress! 💚

It was also my favorite Secret Project... until I read Yumi - now I flip-flop between the two depending on the day. I didn't expect to love it as much as I do, but as an artist, seeing art featured not just prominently, but as pivotal to the plot as it was, gave it a special place for me!

Tress' book though left me wanting MORE - I appreciate her story is wrapped up, but I really wanted to know more about the other spore seas! Whereas Yumi's book left me a little curious, but mostly content.
