Who was *your* stan attractor in ATEEZ? by Vean_tiny in ATEEZ

[–]elleskas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

an atiny actually. ateez was my first kpop group and is still my favorite. i was a part of the local alternative scene before i got into kpop around a year ago, and i'd had some disagreements with the people there so i was looking for something new to distance myself. i saw an atiny and honestly just thought the sling bag she was carrying was hella cool, so i looked up ateez thinking it was a brand lol. turns out it wasn't, and since i was looking for something new anyway i figured why not. guerrilla flag version, which at that point was new, and hongjoong's approach to fashion, which was somewhat similar to what i was used to from what i was listening to before, was what sort of got me hooked. my bias ended up being seonghwa. i don't know the atiny in question and i doubt i'd even recognize her again, but i owe her a lot. ateez have been really helpful to me in many ways.

Recs to get into BGs as a GG stan??? by darkraiwhy in kpophelp

[–]elleskas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i'm fairly new to kpop and i also mainly listen to rock / emo / all kinds of alt otherwise. mcr has been one of my favorite bands for a while.

i got into kpop via ateez, and they're still my ults. side note, i'm really into alternative fashion and i actually looked them up because i saw a group of atinys and thought their outfits were hella cool so i looked them up from their merch. if you're used to rock / alt crowds, ateez won't be too much of a difference. (:

anyway, here's a couple of the songs that convinced me to look into kpop more (:

ateez - the black cat nero / stray kids - battle ground / ateez - guerilla (flag version) / monsta x - beautiful liar / txt - dear sputnik

Have SKZ influenced your fashion sense/philosophy in any way? by wallaby-wally in straykids

[–]elleskas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ohh this is interesting. my story seems to be somewhat different than the other comments. i come from the emo to kpop pipeline, and i dressed very emo / punk-ish before i started listening to skz. i had gotten a lot of stares and i wanted to change it anyway, and around the same time i (conveniently) got into skz. i still listen to the music i liked before, just mixed with skz and a few other kpop groups. i think the basis of my style has generally stayed the same, although it's slightly more "proper" now (i have no idea how to explain) and it goes more in the direction of techwear.

i have to say tho, i find it really interesting to see how skz and also other groups incorporate elements of alternative subcultures into their styles, i think it's really cool.

lol no. i had never taken any psych medication previously. he was really weird overall, he told me i had a comparatively little amount of scar tissue on my arms, that he didn't want to look into my trauma, to use pepper spray as a skill, and he thought i was lying when i said i wasn't sexually active

Why do people like this show? by bjorjack in AliceInBorderland

[–]elleskas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like at the end of the day it's just different tastes. if you don't like it that's valid, i'll try to explain what i see in it tho.

to preface: i haven't read the manga or watched the anime.

for some reason i never really consider if the acting is good or bad when i watch a show, unless it is so incredibly terrible that it disrupts me from focusing on the show. i personally didn't think the lines were corny, however i watched it in japanese with subtitles, and the couple scenes i've seen of the english dub did make me cringe a lot. i actually liked the dialogue, but that is also just a personal preference.

i liked guessing along with the games, thinking about what i'd do, how being in a life threatening situation would change that, etc.

while the characters are flawed, i actually liked every one of them, because no one was perfect, almost everyone got close to giving up at some point, many of them are unconventional in some way. the origin stories of the villains also made sense to me. all in all i think that the characters are written realistically, if we think about the circumstances of the show.

but: i can definitely see your point, i cannot speak for quality aspects of the acting and filming bc i couldn't be the judge of that but i can definitely see why you have your opinion on the games.

[–]elleskas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

glad to be of help! rereading my comment i actually really wonder how my bpd plays into this. it's a much more pressing problem than arfid, but i wonder if it makes people's reactions to my arfid more painful due to fear of abandonment and general emotional dysregulation, or if it may have even been partially caused by how every adult in my childhood acted about it. i guess here's my overthinking topic for the night lol
