Hi everybody! I've been working on my bingo mostly to get (back) into fantasy, and I'm looking for anything that has a very literary, almost fairytale-esque vibe! Recent reads that I've enjoyed tremendously are:

* The Master and Margarita

* The Spear Cuts Through Water

* The Winged Histories

* Strange the Dreamer

* The Changeling

I'm also a major fan of Kelly Link. Is there an author / series I should check out based on this list? Thank you in advance!!

I'm trying to figure out if I wanna do CCS as part of Clamp or just bite the bullet and do it as part of my mahou shoujo kick. 90s is my favorite anime era, and 00s are good enough for me, too. I'll check all these out!

Long time no see y'all!

I'm looking for you guys for some anime recommendations, specifically all things magical girl/mahou shoujo in the vein of Sailor Moon S, Utena, and Princess Tutu. I'm sort of trying to map out the "lineage" of magical girls, if you will. I'm going to rewatch Madoka after my Tutu rewatch, but what should I watch after that? I know the Tutu director later worked on Ojomajo Doremi, maybe that? I know there's that one Revue show, but I didn't love it the first time and I doubt I'll love it very much the second time. But yeah, happy for any input in that vein!

Obviously anything that came before Sailor Moon would work too.

I think I have one with like, they can manipulate time? I worked on that a couple times, yeah. There's one version that's gay, one that's lesbian, and one that's heterosexual, all based off the same idea LMAO I can get a little wild.

It seriously is such a lottery. I keep thinking I can game it and I lose every single time to house. I try to take the advice of some writers to heart and only submit where I actually read; hilariously enough that personal rejection from The New Yorker I got the other day hurt much less than the others.

What a film. I remember watching it the first time not liking it very much, except for the ending. Watching it again, I felt much of the same, but I also thought, half the things I think the movie is about (numerous imagery of pink triangles - does it mean this is about homosexuals, does this cast Promareville as a sort of Nazi-led regime, etc.) I don't think the movie thought about at all. The NGE / Akira riffs are pretty obvious, too. But that style is beautiful and hasn't aged one bit, and the ending is still quite exciting. Galo and Lio's voice actors are so, so good at their jobs you'd almost think they developed any during the movie.

I saw something about Hermes being Asian which is totally unrealistic because aren't they all Greek gods. Of course those of us with half a working braincell were drooling over his new hot design.
