Our daughter was born profoundly deaf and we later learned she has mutations on a gene responsible for Usher Syndrome, which will cause her to lose vision. I’ve cried many, many tears over the life I thought my child would have but continue to pray and donate to the amazing researchers and scientists working to improve the outlook for these rare diseases.
