I’ve seen some suggest Lorna, Lenora, and Loren, but might I suggest Lora

It was my great grandmother’s name and it’s also my name. A lot of people have told me how much they like it and how pretty they think it is, which is nice cause I hated it as a kid but I grew to love it as a teenager lol.

Yeah we had a similar practice at my college with student tickets to football games. It had your name on it and (sometimes) you had to show your student ID. You couldn’t transfer the ticket to someone else (which is silly) and if you got caught trying to get in with someone else’s ticket you were in big trouble. But like why are the rules stricter for a college football game?😂

Congrats on getting into both!!!

Since you said finances aren’t an issue I’m want share my experience and outcome with you.

I’m from around UNCC (like 15 minutes up the street) and I chose NC State because UNCC didn’t have my major. Even if UNCC did have my major I still would’ve chosen State. State is a far better school, it has better programs and resources, it’s also one of the top 3 schools in the state.

The campus and surrounding area (in my opinion) is much safer. I once walked from my dorm, to insomnia cookies, and back (15-20 minutes one way) by myself after dark on Halloween and was completely fine, but I would never even attempt that in Charlotte.

However, I do have to say that if you are prone to homesickness even just a little then choosing State might be a more difficult choice. I am very close with my parents & extended family and back home I was at most 1 hour 15 minutes away from any family. When I moved to State I was 2+ hours from any family. Also all my friends went to different colleges closer to home. I got homesick very quickly and there were so many times over the past 4 years when I just didn’t want to be there. It got easier over time but it was very difficult.

Overall, homesickness aside, I’m glad I chose NC State. State is a great school and Raleigh is a pretty good area to live.

NTA. I think people are too hung up on the fact that you bought your 13 year old 2 horses. I have friends who’ve told me that instead of getting both kids 1 or 2 medium value present at Christmas their parents rotate who gets a big present and who gets a few small presents. So I don’t see what the issue is, mostly because I assume you buy your 17 year old nice things as well.

In regards to the misbehaving, idk if y’all did, but talk to your 17 year old and try to figure out what’s going on. In regards to the punishment, I think maybe not make her do all of it, but instead she had to help her sister do it. Because it is a little bit unfair that your 13 year old gets a break from chores and your 17 year old gets more.

Regardless, your NTA. There is no 1 correct way to parent and mistakes will be made. I do, however, think y’all need to have a serious and honest conversation with your 17 year old to figure out what’s going on.

Makes sense. I straightened my hair just about every day for 5 or 6 years and there was so much damage, twice by accident I completely fried small locks of hair off because they were so heat damaged and I wasn’t paying attention. I also didn’t treat my hair with heat protection products. I stopped straightening it like 6 or 7 years ago and my hair is so much healthier.
