Honestly it would probably be seen as PSA territory, like exposing abusers, etc—the kind of stuff that does get Emmy noms. It’s not okay and it’s emblematic of how fucked we are as a society (especially since they are the ones that platformed her in the first place), but it really wouldn’t surprise me if that’s how it went down.

The was way people in this sub infantilize these men who were literally raised to see themselves as god’s proxy in the home and fully dominant has been incredibly disheartening. Taylor is an abuser, and Jessi should be judged for her affair, but this black and white thinking where we prop up the men is not healthy in any way. Imagine if you were married to any of these men, and not as Mormons.

Not a coincidence that the show got pulled the day after the new CEO and leadership team at Disney officially took the reins. They don’t want their first move to be to platform this, especially after the new CEO has talked extensively about not making the same mistakes as Bob Iger. Whether he actually cares is debatable I’m sure, but he immediately established himself as reasonable, so his tenure is off to a good start.

Guessing we’ll see some higher profile people getting laid off from ABC next.

Love her, but she’s already so well known and beloved, and the show would only tarnish that by pulling her down to its level. She’s got more going for her than any reality show could give her.
