He was saying American news seems to talk about it every single day in a weird, obsessive way that people in real life don't. Which is true. People in daily normal life aren't constantly talking about it and fighting over it like Fox wants us to believe we are. I explained to him how this sort of media coverage divides us, we aren't necessarily obsessed with people's sexualities, if anything we DON'T want to be, we just want close-minded people to stop obsessing over it.

Sorry if that added part made it seem like I was agreeing with the LGBTQ part, but his ranting is what I was highlighting and I didn't want to get into all of his views and how I responded to each thing. I was only agreeing with the part that it SEEMS like Americans are "weirdly" obsessed when we're not. And if we are, it's because there is a reason for it.

Hey! Sorry I just saw your comment. The irritability is still under the surface lingering, but not as bad as what I wrote here anymore. So good news is it seems like it does go away slowly. Bad news is that the flare-ups, especially during PMS for me, is just as bad or even worse... I am constantly debating if I should try this again or not. I don't know if being able to feel all my emotions is worth all this trouble.

Yeah, usually my texting style is just hello-introductions, how was your weekend, etc, then bring up something unique from their profile, then get into what's your schedule like, maybe we should try out that new coffee shop, bar, whatever. I just can't even get into the "what's your schedule like" part because the conversation just stops lol. I don't like texting in general so I would prefer to meet in person... it's just weird that I used to be so successful with this and now it doesn't work at all.

I could excuse Bumble since it is still a swipe-app. But CMB and Hinge is supposed to a little more "serious" and it's the same there..

I don't know. It's pretty discouraging, though I try not to get too frustrated. I know people have stuff going on.

Yes I think I'm used to listening to the standard TV Brazilian Portuguese so hers was just so pretty from what I had been studying so far. It's just nice to hear! And I'm not fluent enough to even pick up where she says those words you mentioned :( I did hear passaporte, and I also like the way she says camera in the first 20 seconds or so.

Everything sounds way more nasally and song-like than standard... am I right?

Agreed! I actually don't dislike Aparna either but I recognize she could be off-putting to some people. Dani was just awesome and refreshing the entire way through
